mistoppi I've been watching so much 30 Rock lately, and I just wanted to watch something else with Tina Fey in it. And since Amy Poehler was in this movie as well, it felt like a jackpot.Baby Mama is a fun movie, and I had high hopes for it. That's mostly because I wanted it to end happily, because at a certain point it felt like there's no way for it to end happily. But still, the way it ended felt so stupid and just... too easy. It was too happy in a way that it make everyone's dreams come true, and that happens very rarely in real life. Of course it's nice to have a movie where everyone is more or less happy, but that also felt really cheap.I love the chemistry between Fey and Poehler. I wish there were more movies with both of them on Netflix.

Julesecosse A lot of laughs are to be had in this movie, an engaging buddy comedy with the excellent proved comediennes Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.The leads seem to work really well together as I believe that they have done so in the past, perhaps on Saturday Night Live? The dialogue is excellent and is the main component of the film. I feel certain that a lot of it is ad-libbed. The best lines were definitely reserved for the father of the baby (Dax Shepard), said sometimes with an almost embarrassed air; as some of them are somewhat politically incorrect, but generally just outrageously idiotic and ignorant.A jolly entertainment for most modern adults, possibly not however for those of a conservative bent.

Steven Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have both had great success on Saturday Night Live, and with their own shows, Fey on 30 Rock and Poehler on Parks and Recreation. They can also say they made a buddy movie together with Baby Mama. Baby Mama stars Fey as Kate, a 37-year-old businesswoman who has climbed up the ladders of business success rather than be like most traditional women in the sense of getting married, having an ordinary job, and having children. That is where the film begins. We start by showing her having a date where she gives way too much information to a guy, which causes him to leave.We then transition to where Kate wants a baby. She looks at some sperm donors and finds no interest. So she invests a lot of money into a program where there are women who will volunteer to be surrogate mothers. That is where she meets Angie (Poehler). Angie is an ordinary working class woman with a dumb boyfriend, played by Dax Shepard.The film focuses on Kate and Angie during Angie's pregnancy. Director Michael McCullers focuses on having the story built around Kate and Angie and how they build their friendship. Through taking care of Angie, Kate gets some experience at what being a mother is like. Fey and Poehler have great chemistry that translated just as well on the big screen compared to TV, if not, better. Both Fey and Poehler turn in excellent performances that make their imperfect characters likable and fun to watch. Stealing the show in a great supporting role is Steve Martin, who plays Kate's boss Barry. Martin is a riot as the energy-reading Barry. Where Martin excels with his character is making him a one-of-a-kind character that no other actor could play. The film is fun to watch, and guys will enjoy watching Tina Fey and Amy Poehler play off each other just as much as the ladies do.

lewiskendell Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are the glue that holds Baby Mama together. With two less likable funny-women, or two actresses that lack their chemistry, it wouldn't be nearly as funny as it is. The story deals with surrogacy, and the issues that new types of reproduction technology introduce into age-old human relationships. There's an unnecessary romantic subplot shoe-horned in the narrative, as well (it's virtually against the law to not include one, right?), but the majority of the comedy results from the relationship between Tina's straight-laced career woman, and Amy's not-so-straight-laced character. It's all ridiculous and absurd, and I enjoyed ever minute of it. The ending falters a bit, in its efforts to give everyone a happy resolution, but the movie overall is a solid comedy.
