Barnyard Audience Reviews

Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
kobispencer My kids loved this movie. It had a good story. It was entertaining. Let me repeat that. It was Entertaining. Was this movie real? No, it was a cartoon. Was this movie correct in all details? No, it was a children's movie.Did my kids sit and pick it apart for flaws? No, they Enjoyed it.I do not see why some people seem to expect so much out of a movie that was meant for entertainment, let alone a children's movie. (Unless that is how they get their enjoyment). If you are looking for a realistic, factual movie you will not find it here. On the other hand if you are looking for a good movie for entertainment for children, than this is it.p.s. I must still have some kid in me since I also enjoyed watching with my kids.
TheBlueHairedLawyer Barnyard tells the story of a barn of animals,, the main character being a cow, living a secret life when the kindly old farmer isn't looking. When a gang of vicious coyotes kills an old cow, Otis (the cow's goofball son), is left largely in charge of the barnyard... but can he really protect it the way his father did? Barnyard wasn't necessarily a bad movie, but it's not the first animated film about farm animals to come out, nor was it the last. It certainly doesn't have the same quality as Chicken Run (2000) or Charlotte's Web (1973). Somehow is spawned a sequel, and a TV series that I've never honestly bothered to watch; I'm not exactly Barnyard's target audience. I think if I was, I would have enjoyed it a little more, it's a typical kid's movie, not much else to say.
TheLittleSongbird I don't think this is the worst animated movie I have ever seen, Titanic:The Animated Movie, Doogal and Secret of NIMH 2 are worse I feel, but Barnyard in my opinion isn't particularly that good. It does have a decent vocal cast; Kevin James, Courtney Cox, Danny Glover, Sam Elliot and Rob Paulsen do a good job but deserve better than their material lets them onto. And I did like the saying "A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others".However, there were many things I did not like. The animation is not that great I feel, there is the occasional nice colourful background, but the character movements are cheap, forced and blocky. At best the music is forgettable, the story is unoriginal and uninspired, the dialogue is simplistic and often lowbrow, the gags are crude and totally not smart(well there was the occasional laugh but that isn't enough, but they went well overboard with the udders) and the characters(with the exception of Ben and Dag the Coyote) are obnoxious and unlikeable, with no really unique personalities. Overall, a big disappointment, could have been much better. 3/10 Bethany Cox
gaza25 I first saw this film on an impulse, and I was most impressed by it! I thought it combined humour and sadness well and some of the childish humour was hysterical! It had enough happening in it to keep me watching without being too exciting and action-packed. Also the fact that the male cows had udders didn't bother me in the slightest, and i thought the rest of the graphics were great too! I took it on tour with me when I went with the local rugby club, and the whole rugby team loved it and everyone (especially the 48 year old coach!) wanted to watch it again on the way home! Now that IS pretty impressive for a children's film.
