Case 39 Audience Reviews

Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
dworldeater Case 39 is a pretty good thriller/ horror movie that is heavily influenced by The Omen. While I hate the remake of The Omen, I love the original film and am open to watching something along the same lines. This film fits the criteria. Case 39 has its flaws, but overall I found this to be enjoyable. The evil kid/supernatural elements are nothing new and have been done to death in cinema, but like the original Omen film, this is up to the audience to decide if this is actually happening or if this is all in the mind of an overworked and unstable social worker. Case 39 might have worked a bit better if it chose to play as a horror film or as a thriller, but the fact that Case 39 does not clearly choose a genre so clearly sets it apart a bit. However, it does rely heavily on conventional approaches to both. The psychological aspects are done well and is pretty well acted. The atmosphere is foreboding also. I would not regard Case 39 as a classic, but I did enjoy it, even if it is in a lot of ways very standard or predictable.
Manav Singh Before writing further i wanna say that this movie is not for those who expect ghosts and paranormal activities suddenly appearing before you n giving you goosebumps. Its truly a psychological horror genre film. From beginning and as it progresses it develops a certain kind of perception in your mind that whats gonna happen next. The most scariest scene i foud in this movie was girl's evaluation session with bradley cooper. It was so well organized and their interaction will surely make you say oh my god! .That was just awesome. Moreover the way the little girl character develops is very much intriguing to keep you stuck on your seats. And the whole atmosphere was great and makes the movie watchable.Give it a try if you are a true fan of psychological horrors.
bitte_k_i This is horror and suspense film in 2009. It depicts the social worker and a strange girl. Emily who is social worker charges of many cases that parents have problems about the children or else the opposite. She visits the family and she feels something suspect to the parents. One night, she gets a call from the girl Lily, and plunges into her house. Lily is about to be killed by her parents in the oven. She put the parents into the jail. Lily needs new parents and she wants Emily to be her mother. She decides to take care of her and they starts happy living. But as time passes, people around Emily pass away unnaturally one by one. Emily starts to suspects Lily's true character.I think the term of social welfare problem is well depicted in this film. Emily is eager about solving problems but I am sorry about her miserable situation after helping Lily. I do not believe the Devil but it scares me. If you do not believe it, you will enjoy with this film.
Movie Enthusiast I enjoyed that thriller. I think, both directing and acting was solid and good quality. The script was up to a standard too, only downfall was that the twist was kind of predictable from some points onward. In spite of this, it managed to keep up suspense until the end.I very much liked Renee Zellweger in that movie. I think she gave a real good performance as a social worker and so did the other main character, little girl in her care. The development of the relationship between the two is the backbone that carries the film, and they both do a brilliant job at it. The scenes between the do are all very strong, full of psychological suspense. That is the other thing why I liked this movie: it uses the minimal amount of gore and CSI and maximal amount of psychological suspense. The visual revealing of the horror at the end is also done tastefully, and most importantly, not overdone.
