Cherry Falls Audience Reviews

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
Kidskycom It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.
Tayloriona Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
SnoopyStyle In the small town of Cherry Falls, horny teens are being murdered by a mysterious killer. Jody Marken (Brittany Murphy) makes out with her boyfriend Kenny but he dumps her when she wouldn't put out. It doesn't help that she's the daughter of the strict local sheriff (Michael Biehn). Leonard Marliston (Jay Mohr) is the English teacher. Clues indicate that the killer is targeting virgins. The kids organize a sex party. It's a cheesy premise with a cheesy title to match. Some may see this as calling out a standard horror trope. At its core, there is a passable horror. It is never good enough to be scary nor smart enough to be biting. It's not funny or at least not intentionally funny. The best friend is a bit of a dud. As a logical construct, there is a shocking lack of parental guidance out at the party considering a serial killer is on the loose. On the plus side, Brittany Murphy is a solid scream queen. The bar is raised higher by the obvious pun in the premise and title. The movie fails to clear that higher bar.
Mason-Moore12345678910 This movie is nothing but excellence. I actually enjoyed it and would recommend this movie to a friend. The only thing that I don't really like about this movie is that it doesn't have enough chase scenes. Although the movie doesn't have many epic chase scenes, every second of the movie is crawling with suspense. The setting is in the quiet, small town of Cherry Falls. A series of murders begin to become common with teenage virgins. Likewise, all the teenagers have a party where they all plan to lose their virginity to take themselves off the endangered spices list. Mayhem breaks out and the police forces of the town are left clueless. Jody, the sheriff's daughter, helps solves the mystery. Throughout the film deadly secrets are revealed leaving you wanting more. Will the town's teenagers survive?
crustysaltmerchant I had never even heard of this film when I saw it on the shelf of my second hand DVD shop but at 75p I thought I'd give it a go. I was robbed. OK it wasn't that bad but considering the cast it had it was very poor. Brittany Murphy is uglied up with a terrible fright wig for some bizarre reason, Michael Biehn is phoning it in for most of the film and just when he starts to act he dies! The whole twist is centred around a woman called Loralee but it's blatantly obvious to anyone that loralee is a man in drag and again it's so obvious who that man is. I guessed it within ten minutes. The murders are also a let down, the film has an 18 rating and yet is almost entirely free of gore and bloodshed. Even the killing of the bad guy is without the required splatter of a stalk and slash film. With cardboard characters, bad dialogue, huge plot holes and general ineptness in film making this should be avoided. The film is neither funny nor scary nor sexy and so fails on it's three main selling points.
chris dimarino Cherry Falls had all the makings of a "who done it" slasher, in line with the screams and i know what you did last summer molds. It however had a dull plot, which developed slowly and awkwardly and suffered from some awful production value and shot execution. The plot is simply the effort to unmask a murderer who is killing virgins. Aside from the fact that so much of the film is ludicrous, the way many of the "action" sequences were shot and edited was just atrocious. I would have given this movie some leniency if it was done by amateurs with amateur actors, but there are quite a few bigger names in it. The acting is moderate, but i doubt anyone could've saved this script.I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone, unless you hate movies.
