Diagonaldi Very well executed
GamerTab That was an excellent one.
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
TaryBiggBall It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
sbatt I watched the first 40 minutes in growing disbelief until I thought 'sod it!'. What a load of nonsense! Film makers et al who remake history to the immense detriment of the truth and thereby the memory of such a great man should be held to account. I am completely disgusted... if you couldn't tell already. Sad to think this film will now be many peoples 'truth'. :(
squaredup Gonna give this a perfect score just to piss off all the Churchill fanbois. Apparently they didn't like how their dear leader is portrayed in this movie. Well, sucks for them.10/10 would recommend watching this with your Tory-voting friend. Peace out.
Neil Welch In the days leading up to the D-Day landing, Prime Minister Winston Churchill is desperate to get Operation Overlord shut down, as he fears it will lead to a disaster on the scale of Gallipolli.Brian Cox plays Churchill in this dramatic reconstruction. The trouble is that it's not that dramatic, and it's not that accurate either, in that Churchill was not disposed to try to undermine his Chiefs of Staff in the run-up to D-Day. And as for the characterisation of Churchill is concerned - he was a man of many facets, but I doubt that interfering busybody with borderline senility was one of them. All of which might not have mattered had there been enough in the film to hold your attention. But despite being set at one of the most dramatic moments in recent history, and despite some beautiful cinematography, this film is boring from start to finish. It appears to think it is important - it isn't - and it is packed full of lingering closeups, and leisurely focus-pulls and dissolves, all of which serve little purpose other than to make the thing longer.
kevin_s-15449 This movie should be forced to have it's title changed. One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Watch "Darkest Hour" instead and avoid this complete nonsense.
