Finding Fanny Audience Reviews

UnowPriceless hyped garbage
JinRoz For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
MartinHafer When many outsiders think of Indian films, they immediately think of the Bollywood spectacles--movies with lots of singing and dancing and plots usually involving romance. There's nothing wrong with these films, though there is certainly a rather sameness to many of them. But, although here in the States these are mostly the types of films they import from India, there are other films from this movie-making powerhouse--films with much more subtlety, depth and, amazingly, not a song in the entire movie!"Finding Fanny" is a sweet road movie with five disparate characters traveling from the Goa area to find an elderly man's love of his life--a woman he never really got a chance to tell how he feels. For decades he's been living with this and now he's finally gotten up the nerve to seek her and his friends are accompanying him on this journey. However, this plot is pretty much an excuse to show a variety of characters with a variety of interesting back stories. The bottom line is that if you MUST have a strong, plot-driven movie you may just be disappointed in "Finding Fanny". However, if you like really solid and realistic acting and a gentle directorial style, you will find the film more than satisfying. In many ways, this felt like I was watching a nice indie film as opposed to a film from a movie-producing juggernaut like India. Well done and worth seeing, though the death of one of the characters late in the film was certainly very strange and was dealt with in a way that left me a bit baffled.
NB K Too happy and too satisfied the film was worth the money I spent. The performances were 10/10. The story is simple but executed and narrated in a very twisted swirly layered style. Naseeruddin Shah I never thought I'd fall in love with him. He was so cute as Ferdie confused and cute. Dimple Kapadia was flawless and hilarious every single scene of hers will go down as my favorite movie scenes. Arjun was understated but so adorable I felt so much for his character. Deepika is today's Madhuri Dixit this woman is the only all-rounder in Bollywood. The way she looks, her smile, her acting, her looks the way she gave shape to the characteristics of Angie is brilliant. Last but not the least Pankaj Kapur he is above brilliant he was funny he was lecherous his character was the little negative one but the man is such a phenomenal actor you ended up liking him too. Homi Adajania made a gem cinema lovers will cherish and a film which he should be proud of.
Zoheb Haider It is quite delightful to see a movie like this coming from bollywood roots although the star cast itself guaranteed that it was going to be a treat to watch performance-wise. Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia are all fantabulous actors and they lived up to their reputations perfectly... Deepika Padukone did her part in a not so glam role but some decent acting for a change.. The quirky humor and cinematography are exemplary. The story conveys so much. The cat, makes for such a moving scene where it is shown how important it is in life to not just own love but to nurture it too. A very small and yet so powerful statement being made and it was just a part of the entire story. The search for a lost love, to be so silent about it and keep it within when his persona is shown to be so irresponsible and insane is just so admirable. Its not always about the destination, sometimes just the joy of the journey is what is required... Its never too late to find a lost love when you've seen it and felt it.. Awesome movie, must watch!!!!
Manav Singh Finding fanny revolves around the life of five main characters of the film and their journey to find lost love of an old man played by naseeruddin shah.He plays his role with ease and once again you see him in a very different role characterized by innocence, honesty and lovable human being. He is the one who makes the whole journey interesting by his charm and charisma dominating all other stars.Undoubtedly he is the best part of the movie. Then comes Pankaj kapoor.Although we have seen him in much better roles, yet he manages to impress with his awesome dialogue delivery skills. The character he portrays is of an artist who tries desperately to paint a plump, oversized proud and arrogant lady( played by dimple kapadia ).Deepika padukone,Dimple Kapadia and arjun Kapoor are good to watch. They are like wheels of a car driven by Naseeruddin shah and Pankaj Kapoor, supporting them well.Screenplay is impressive and well supported by eye catching locations.I must say that the director has done a good job here as the movie is less based on content and more on presentation. In this 90 minute movie the director takes care of audience by not adding much songs. As the movie begins all the characters are introduced and soon they go on a journey to find naseeruddin shah's lost love Stephanie aka fanny after almost 40 years. As the movie proceeds it succeeds in keeping the spectators engaged. What let's you down is the climax of the movie. After watching whole movie one expects an emotional romantic reunion. To its contrast fanny is introduced as a women who had known many men but naseeruddin shah and lived a colorful life. The man who is exemplified as epitome of love was never ever talked about by fanny as is revealed by her daughter. This messiah of love even fails to recognize fanny, the lady who was his only love. This is disturbing and spoils the mood. The climax could have been far better than that.So folks watch this movie for some good performances and awesome locations but don't expect much from it.The movie is short and will not bore you.I give it 6 out of 10
