"Gunday" follows a familiar territory of best friends turning foes for their common love. What follows is an action packed story of petty thieves turning into the city's biggest outlaws and a cop relentlessly following the criminal duo. Such stories used to be favorite among the '70s film makers. Story-wise, the film isn't more than an average '70s action film full of improbabilities. You can't just digest Ranvir Singh and Arjun Kapoor as the most notorious bandits of Calcutta in the 80s as the film projects nor the police action against them looks much realistic. Overall, "Gunday" is weak in its story with unlovable characters and tastelessness. Performance wise too, the film falls short for the under performed roles of Irfan Khan and Priyanka Chopra. If the film grips a little, it's for the fast pace and the technical aspects of the film.Rating: 1 star out of 4

i tho-wt it was a really Gd film wit a nice friendship theme. so many film misrepresent countries...this film was definitely a crowd pleaser and i hope there is a sequel(i can share lots of ideas for example like its so funny how they fell out over a girl so they could bring in sequel and with a different girl and maybe they don't get shot and killed instead injured at the end and they're in a hospital. PS all of this is in brackets cos my grammar goes out the window when i start thinking of creative plot lines)so yes to summarize a brilliant film, loved all the references to 'barabar'...the mirror scene...yep we always love the classic shots

This film has given the wrong information that the war was between India & Pakistan. it is a matter of great regret the makers of "Gunday" have no sense with their work. it should also be noted that India helped Bangladesh in the liberation war. But the war was between Bangladesh & Pakistan. i repeat Bangladesh & Pakistan. 3 million people of Bangladesh sacrificed their lives for their country. 2 lakhs womens of Bangladesh were raped by the Pakistan army. if you don't know the actual information just stay out of this or try to know the right information.
