lil_moe I almost certainly wouldn't have watched it with a rating of 2.9. Having seen it, I think it warrants somewhere between 4.5 to 5.5 but I gave up trying to understand the bipolarity of the IMDb community in recent years. First of all, the movie title pretty much tells it all. It's inappropriate comedy. Taboo comedy that doesn't necessarily appeal to the main stream population. Now, if you're part of the main stream population (all buttoned up, all proper and all civil- world-oriented) you will very likely not like it. The whole movie is nothing but a short sketches of off-color comedy. That is: jokes about homosexuals, Jews, porn and the envied practice of sugar-daddying. To me personally, I thought this movie had hilarious moments that could have been delivered better but they weren't so that's what that is. I gave the movie a 5 which is pretty high on the comedy genre (not particularly a fan) but I honestly enjoyed the political-incorrectness. I think most people are too wound-up and uptight so I've always got a kick from throwing a little race joke (about my own race-Arab- terrorist jokes) and the reactions of WASP-y folks (look up WASP if you're not American) always made it ten-times more hilarious to me. I've always thought taboo-ing certain issues leads to ignorance which leads to fear which leads to violence. Make jokes about anything and everything (not about my prophet though or I'll track you down and bomb you) and maybe then we can get to know each other REALLY. To summerize, if you're a person who gets easily offended by listening to racial or sexual jokes then do NOT see this movie under any circumstance. If you, however, a person who laughs heartily with no bigoted, prejudgmental prejudice then by all means go see this movie and you will probably get a kick out of it.
RevRonster Did they forget to add jokes or were the writers just really that bad? "InAPPropriate Comedy" is, quite possibly, the worst comedy I have ever seen in my life. All the skits in the film are hack to the hackiest degree! The writers all come off lazy as each sketch is just endless repetition of a single, already unfunny joke that doesn't get built upon AND doesn't get funnier with each passing moment.Of course, lazy writing aside, it was obvious this film was going to be terrible because you already have Rob Schneider, Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan in the film—so, quality wasn't really a factor the filmmakers were going for here. Mysteriously too, Adrien Brody is in the film as well because he is either being blackmailed or has gambling debts to take care of. Then again, he was in "King Kong," so it's not like this is the first mistake of his career. This film is just so unfunny and grating, I think Brody should actually turn in his Oscar for being a part of this embarrassment. The only saving grace was seeing comedian Ari Shaffir get a beat down for his atrociously laugh-less series of skits called "The Amazing Racist." There's no set-up or punch line to these skits; it's just a D-bag saying racist stereotypes to people without a hint of irony and will only be found amusing by truly racist people. During one of these skits, his racist comments that come off like real racism and not told in jest, ends up getting his face caved in and then (here's the real funny part) he has the nerve to look shocked that someone became angry and reacted violently to his skit. This only worthy moment, however, comes far too late in the film and doesn't justify the viewing or even existence of this stinker. I actually find it depressing that the money used to make this film didn't go to a more worthy cause like cancer research, the needy or even just burning it so we never have to see Rob Schneider in a movie again.Hi! My name is Rev. Ron and I love movies! So much so that I write a blog where I review whatever film I am currently watching. You can read a more in-depth review of this film (and others) at revronmovies.blogspot.com.
Ron Jermey This is one of the funniest movies out there. I am shocked at all the bad reviews. These people obviously don't have a sense of humor. You can't watch this film without laughing. This movie has great acting and very funny scenes. Blacka$$ was the funny as well as Flirty Harry. But the Amazing Raciest was awesome. I loved the boat scene. The only thing which could have made the movie better would have been to show more nudity. This movie was not raciest. We live in a Country where we are supposed to have freedom of speech. But the boat scene demonstrates how raciest people really are. As you will see if you speak your mind some races will use violence against you. I hope they will make more movies like this...
sal10851 This is not a typical film by no means. It has a few sketches while some are comical, others are just stupid and offensive. I understand what they were trying to do but there is a fine line with comedy. I fast forwarded through most of the film but I will discuss the parts I enjoyed.I found The Amazing Racist quite comical since they targeted different races not just one. Although they took it a little far at times it was still enjoyable. The Blackass skits is a take on Jackass except they use black people. If you enjoy the Jackass series then you might enjoy some of these skits. Flirty Harry was my favorite! Thumbs up to Adrien Brody! All other aspects of the film were just stupid with no comedic effort. The ending takes was much funnier than the skits I did not mention. I'm having trouble figuring out Vince Offers thought process but I don't think he has one. I would not recommend people pay for this film.
