It's a Boy Girl Thing Audience Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
SnoopyStyle Nell Bedworth (Samaire Armstrong) is a brainy virgin girlie girl. Her dumb jock neighbor Woody Deane (Kevin Zegers) has fun picking on the nerd and she hates him. Woody has shallow cheerleader girlfriend Breanna (Brooke D'Orsay). Woody and Nell are on a field trip to the museum. As they argue in front of a statue of the Aztec god Tezcatlipoca, a spell is cast on both of them. The next day, they wake up in each other's body. Things go downhill as each try to one up the other in destroying the other's reputation. This is more sexual than the Disney body switch movies. As a rom-com, it works sometimes. At other times, the movie fails to navigate the fact that he's in a girl's body and she's in a boy's body. For example, Woody in Nell's body would never go off to that guy's trailer. He would pretend to go and then lie about it afterward. The whole trailer scene is a ridiculous attempt at some slapstick that fails. The movie works half of the time. The other half is a bit awkward. Both actors do the switch well and this kinda works.
mcliffordbrown My twelve year old daughter rented this video to watch with her young friends. What a disappointment! This film is definitely not suitable for twelve year olds, because of the references to casual sex and the gratuitous crudity throughout. The worst part of it is the chauvinistic storyline of the film, which denigrates teenage girls who participate in casual sex as 'sluts' and 'bitches', but allows the boys to be 'cool' and funny for the exact same behaviour. I'm trying to imagine the sleezy guys who put out this stuff-do they get their kicks from marketing soft porn content and sexual stereotyping to children? What a load of sad little w***kers they are, pathetic little men who probably have to pay for it and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near children in the first place.
hthbrr2 Warning spoilers!OK so we see the opening credits with two stick figures (one male one female) fighting. From child hood to teenage hood? Anyways this seems like an important part of the movie. Does this mean that the two main characters grew up together? Well this is where the messiness begins in this movie. Nothing is explained or clarified. So then we learn that the girl is a smarty pants and the guy is basically an idiot that is only interested in sports. We don't get much explanation as to why they hate each other. Does not seem like they disagree much. They both want a future. I mean everyone can't be a writer, or a football player, we NEED variety. Again, going with the theme of making no sense it's NEVER explained why they hate each other. We are just told they do, so they do. That's it.The mess continues...the rest of the movie is your basic body switching movie. Some ancient relic (once again not explained to go with the movie's theme of messiness) switches their bodies. And they don't switch back until they learned their 'lesson'. Which is ONCE AGAIN NOT EXPLAINED. Ugh, this movie is really stupid. At the end of the movie they 'realize' that they are in love with each other, what? Why? Oh yes, this is not explained either. Mutual understanding = love? Umm, is that not just called common sense? Like some person loves cooking, so they want to be a chef. Does that mean ALL the people who know this SIMPLE FACT are IN LOVE with this person!? LolOh dear, I'm not even going to get into the sexist stereotypes this move makes in depth. But basically here goes; all men like sports, there are only two types of women $1ut$ and uptight girls, women are put on this earth to only please men, and should be ashamed of themselves if they have any desires of ANY kind. Wow.... I'm not even scratching the surface, believe me.But the actors are good in this. Too bad they were not given ANY good material to work with. This movie delivers eye-candy and that's it. You will get no coherent plot.
MovieZonePictures It seems everywhere you look nowadays there's a "feel good body swap comedy" creeping out of the woodwork, and this one is no exception. It's the age old story, Boy meets Girl, Girl and Boy hate each other, Boy and Girl switch bodies thanks to some mystical mumbo jumbo the writers can't be bothered to explain, and then Girl and Boy fall hopelessly in love while figuring out their "Hilarious" predicament.Actually, this light hearted tale isn't too bad. and the gorgeous but under rated Samaire Armstrong is easy on the eyes, while the sound track is a delight to the ears. But sadly the story is crammed full of under developed background characters who never really get a chance to tell their side of things.Needless to say, just like every other movie of this kind, everything is neatly resolved at the end to everyone's relief, But it's a sweet addition to the genre none the less.
