Jai Ho Audience Reviews

Jeanskynebu the audience applauded
Cathardincu Surprisingly incoherent and boring
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
sh_rabat88 I am a huge fan of Salman Khan and due to this i watched that movie. the concept was good but it was copied from the Hollywood movie named Pay It Forward (2000). However If you compare this movie to the original you may be felt worse. The Indian Director always have typical thought to save the hero whatever it takes and so that happened . Salman just survived through dying whereas in the the pay it forward the main character a twelve year boy just sacrificed his life to save his class met in order to assert his theory to do favor for people and he/she will do the same to another people. The ending part of that movie has made consummate but in Jai ho the Hero survived and spoiled the beauteous things of sacrifice.
abhishekbhardwaj57433 after along time salman arrives with something issue based, and have casted tabbu,as his sister, why? is she elder then salman?or they need only 20 year old girls to romance bulky, eye bagged salman?tabbu should not contribute in such dumb projects, even thespians like nadira babbar, give us shock, ensemble cast is full of uninspiring known dull faces, and story, screenplay is heavily overstyled, far far away from reality, single salman roaring enough to blow 100 mens in air, such scenes are heavy disappointment and raise questions of liability of our cinema, its not just a bad craft, indeed a caricature of bad cinema. even if does well on box office,it brings shame to makers abt their representation of corrupt society and how loosely they plotted it,utterly depressing adage on modern consumist society.
Arup Ghose One thing in India that is a big problem is social responsibility - no one wants to take it upon themselves to do anything. Jai Ho teaches us that a common man has the power to do everything in this world - a great message but it wasn't delivered correctly! Sohail Khan concentrates far too much on action, and not on the little bits of the film. Within the first 10 minutes of the film I could tell I was going to be disappointed. Scenes didn't link together, and after the interval you're pretty much waiting for the cliché Salman topless fight scene. It was all too obvious!Jai Ho rides purely on the star power of Salman Khan. It's his film throughout and he does a brilliant job. However, he needs to do something more challenging. These roles are bread and butter for him and he needs to challenge himself, and give the audience something more interesting. I doubt newcomer Daisy Shah will be around for long. She doesn't really show much acting ability in the film even in some romantic scenes alongside Salman. It's great to see Tabu back in such a pivotal role. She's such a good actress, but she won't obviously get leading female roles anymore, however these types of roles suit her, and she did a fantastic job. Other notable performances were from Danny Denzongpa and Mohnish Bahl. The music is not a superhit, but I really liked it. Jai Ho title track is a fantastic upbeat song and Tumko Toh Aana Hi Tha is beautiful, but what is up with the Photocopy song? It's awful!! Overall Sohail Khan doesn't quite have the luck of direction on his side. He relies purely on Salman, and to be fair Salman has carried the film alone however with such poor direction, it's no surprise that a film that has Salman as the male lead, struggled to achieve much at the box office.
Hemant Desai I have seen most people compare this film with one made in South India. I would not comment on the other film. What I do know is that the story theme/essence had featured in a 2000 Hollywood movie named 'Pay It Forward'. Of course there are differences. Hollywood film is about a young school kid, the part substituted in Hindi avataar by a go hit them all macho muscular ex-army Major portrayed by Salmaan. If I hadn't known and see the Hollywood movie, I might have given a star or two more to this film. A very powerful story theme was so grossly wasted when they tried to wrap it up with adding 'masala' Bollywood stuff. I feel the subject of the story did not get enough justice. A lot of unnecessary importance was given to 'glamour' and 'romance'. Of course a few too many songs too have taken away the spotlight from the main storyline. This film could have created a much bigger impact when the subject of story would have had a chance to shine.
