Josie Audience Reviews

Sarentrol Masterful Cinema
Pluskylang Great Film overall
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
eve_dolluk I went into this film knowing little about it and left having to have inner discussions with my moral compass.I don't to give much away but the ending is quite intense and while at times during the film there is clues as to its direction they are not entirely obvious.Josie is a young girl new to a small town who befriends her neighbour. He is older and in his 40s while she is still.at high school.Their relationship also involves Josies new boy friend from high school in a kind of love triangle. The film is quite slow so don't expect any action or fast paced dialogue. Everything plods along with hreat cinamotography and a drawling country and western soundtrack. The performances are very good from the 3 main characters and veey good from the supporting cast.Im not sure why this scores so low though.Only thing I can think of is that its a bit slow and the ending is a bit harsh. Having said that its a good film to reflect on an action and reaction situation. Following orders is never an excuse for wrongdoing, we learnt that with Hitler and the Nazis. We have been punishing people for years for committing war crimes during wars and their excuse was just following orders.Unfortunately thats just not good enough.
Near-L Massive Spoilers Ahead A rating of 4.7 for this movie is utterly unfair and completely nonsensical since it is very well acted by both Sophie Turner and Dylan McDermott. The story itself seems to have some flaws, or maybe just the character Josie lacks reason for her revenge to be so thoroughly planned since the only real person to blame the death of her father would be whoever judged him guilty in court (others where just doing their job and what they've been told) but she decides to get her revenge upon everyone involved which is getting really carried away and even messing with other people's lives who had nothing to do with it (Marcus is gonna probably be executed while being innocent just like her father, or at least have his life ruined) so not a lot of consideration by her part. But overall the movie is a very decent watch and it doesn't make any sense to me the average score is this low. Whoever rates this lower than 6 is having delusional expectations over small and simplistic movie that was done as well as it could.
lee-wilson56 This is a great film, ruined by the deus ex machina!
battlebuckships Just finished watching, It was boring with nothing going on through out the film, this deserves a few rotten tomatoes. Dylan McDermott and the rest of the actors were as always, fantastic! But the story was empty and went nowhere. Just another rush job from Hollywood. Don't waste you money.
