LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace Audience Reviews

Raetsonwe Redundant and unnecessary.
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
Rexanne It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) I am not a fan of Star wars and I have never really played with Lego, so may expectations for this film were fairly low. And that's also how it turned out to be. I did not find the story fascinating, the main antagonist was fairly forgettable and the characters didn't do much for me either, maybe apart from Yoda who was fine. Also the voice acting in here did not really impress me much. I have seen much better. The director here was a visual effects artist on the "Lord of the Rings" movies and the writer is mostly known for his work on "The Simpsons". interesting combo. In any case, if you like or even love one of the two core components from this film (Lego or Star Wars), then maybe you should check it out and will possibly have a much better time watching. Still, don't expect too much. This is not a great film by any means, but at only slightly over 20 minutes it's somewhat bearable I guess. Not recommended.
Gordon-11 This film is about an orphan who breaks into the heart of the Empire and pretends to be a knight in training.I have not watched any of the "Star Wars" films, so I have to say I was a bit lost with who is who and what was going on in the animation. The story is highly compressed to fit into the 22 minutes runtime. I think there must be at least 2 hours of material if it was a proper film. It assumes a lot of prior knowledge about characters and plot, which I don;t have. Still, I enjoyed watching it."Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace" has a lot of action, bit it is more comedy oriented than action oriented. The Lego pieces are realistic, particularly the George Lucas one!
TheRyleeAnn I decided to buy this because it was on sale (i think) for 12 bucks with the blu-ray, DVD and a funky little Lego figurine called "Young Hans Solo" wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't think there was ever a star wars where we saw Han as a kid, but hey, free figurine! i figured. So, the movie is about C3P0 and R2D2 being left with some padawans in coruscant since Yodas ditched because of a "disturbance in the force" some kid, an orphan named Ian decides to tag along with the padawans, with a makeshift name tag. This Ian, after receiving a medal of honor from the Republic for helping Yoda, is actually revealed to be Han. yes, Han Solo. he just didn't have the H on his makeshift name tag turned the right way. in one way this is funny (for little kids..), but might slightly madden more legit star wars fans. i got to admit, i was really thinking "WHAT??? NO. THAT DOESN'T GO WITH THE REST OF THE MOVIES."there's a lot of comedy, but it feels like some of it wasn't written into the plot very well. like Vader randomly showing up and Lego George Lucas having to escort him off set. Some of the humor however, is written quite well. its a mix. there are some plot-holes. like R2D2 showing a clip of "We don't serve your kind here" from the Original Star Wars. This movie happens during the clone wars. that hadn't happened yet. and Vader didn't exist yet either, so, prepare for continuity errors in the sake of comedy.Overall, it wasn't too bad. don't expect a serious star wars movie. its LEGO star wars, expect it to be funny, and great to show your kids. this is a kids movie, but adults should find some value to it too, as long as you aren't so big of a star wars buff that the whole Han/Ian thing doesn't drive you to distraction.
alexfromhorn At first I have to say - I hate Star Wars and I hate animated movies as well. But a long time ago I was in love with Lego... This short movie was awesome. It was a nice adventure, cinematically very well done, music was completely fitting. But what completely stunned me was how freaking realistic those Lego pieces look like! I don't know if it's part animated and part real but it sure looked extremely real - besides the characters of course, but even those looked well. And I loved the humor, it really got me, best comedy I watched in months. I can't say more: I hope there will come more, a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooot more.
