Info

It is nearly ten years after Voyager's return from the Delta Quadrant, and the Federation is in a crisis. The Federation's main suppliers of dilithium crystals are disappearing. Space and time have folded around several planets, effectively isolating them from any contact with outside worlds. And this phenomenon is not natural - someone or something is causing this to happen. This necessitates drastic measures; some of which are outside the Federation's normal jurisdiction. For this, Admiral Pavel Chekov, head of Starfleet Intelligence, turns to Commander Tuvok, Voyager's former security officer and current head of the newly reorganized Section 31. Tuvok must put together a new covert, renegade crew - mostly outcasts and rogues - even criminals. This new crew is tasked with finding out what is causing the folding of time and space, and stopping it - at all costs.

Star Trek: Renegades Audience Reviews

Beanbioca As Good As It Gets
RipDelight This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
sloppy_tuna Okay, first off I want to say that as someone who was born and bred in a family of Trekkies( I would have been excommunicated from the family by my Uncles and Mom if they had not seen the love of TREK in meh) I am seriously amused by the critiquing of the sub par acting that is in this made for TV movie. I know most Trekkies want to forget...but the inescapable truth is that Shatner is the biggest HAM of all time, the only one who comes close to his level of HAM is the Great and Fabulous Adam West. You can tear apart this acting all you want, but the truth is this show reflects EXACTLY what the OG Star Trek was all about. I know it isn't done on purpose (hehehehe) but it is still as lovable as any of the Star Treks. I mean Come On Son, if you can find it in your heart to have a Trekkiesque love for Voyager, or delude yourself into thinking Shatner was anything more than a B actor (until his stint on Boston Legal and he owes a lot of that to his chemistry with Spader) than surely you can find it in your heart to show a little love for this Star Trek entry. Clearly it was an attempt to introduce a new series that never got picked up, but it still deserves a little love. It's worth viewing once just for the chance to see Xena's (Love me some Lucy Lawless) daughter playing Kahn's (Love me some Ricardo Montalbon even more) daughter. I've seen WAY better from the Trek Universe, but I've also seen Worse.
William Lucas Lots of good points and had lots of good potential, but left me feeling the void because, simply said, this one is not the Star Trek I was expecting. I have read many articles on FaceBook about Star Trek Renegades and each one had left me with the impression, the fans were true to have made this one become possible. So I was expecting a lot more than was delivered.Acting: 3/10 Some acting was good, but most of it wasn't. Tim Russ was the director. Mr. Russ should have asked for help from Johnathan Frakes. There were parts of the movie that clearly jumped around and cause confusion and a blank in the train of thought during the playback.Video: 9/10 The movie has great video quality. The darks were just right and colors were correct. However, speaking of Admiral Chekov's uniform, I'm thinking it was made for a dish washer, because the sleeves were way too short. Sort of had reminded me of high waters pants, if you know what I mean.Audio: 5/10 The audio channels were not as distinctive as one would expect.Final thoughts: Would I watch the next episode of Star Trek Renegades? I believe the first episode is a good start. I am with high hopes the series will become better and stronger as they continue to be produced.
sailorgaz The acting is so, so bad. Even the old star trek actors from the original series and voyager used are bad actors and you can see why they never worked again. The supporting cast are really, really bad, it sounds like they've no acting experience and I've a feeling they were pulled off the street. The CGI and special effects are terrible, I mean late 90's quality. The aliens make-up and costumes look thrown together by a blind person.I've honestly seen pornographic movies with better acting than this and I've seen higher production values in 80's pornography. Some die hard Star Trek fans will appreciate the effort and seeing the actors again. Most with be sheathing that something so poor has been given the star trek name. Avoid at all costs
fred here Overall, a great movie, a B movie, but very well done. it was awesome and with a little work would have been an award winning show. still, a great story and i like the direction that it has taken, with intrigue behind the facade of starfleet. The only bad acting was the granddaughter, but she only had 5 minutes total, and she was sweet, so no big deal. Loved the makeup and mask and characters. Captain Alveress was also shaky, which was a surprise, because he is a great actor, and a couple more. Overall, i really lost myself in this film and can't wait for a more mainstream cast and directors, sci-fi part was excellent. Bad to the bone ships. Lots of heart shown in the characters. Chekov was pretty good. The captain of the Renegades, she was awesome.
