Cebalord Very best movie i ever watch
VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
SincereFinest disgusting, overrated, pointless
AutCuddly Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
Paul Magne Haakonsen Well, true "Blockers" is indeed generic and predictable for what it turned out to be. But do take into consideration the type of movie that it is and the playing field in which it operates. Thus, this is not the movie that you expect will move your cinematic experience by a milestone. Hardly so. No, you know what you are getting yourself into when you sit down to watch "Blockers".And writers Brian Kehoe and Jim Kehoe did manage to put together a story that works out quite nicely. And by the hands of director Kay Cannon, their material is brought adequately and entertainingly to life on the screen.Sure, "Blockers" follow that stereotypical formula of how to make a comedy in this particular genre. But isn't that exactly what makes them work and makes them entertaining and funny? At least it is for me. Yes, you know how the movie will turn out, but it is not about the ending here, it is about the journey along the way. And definitely about the laughs.I will say that "Blockers" is packed with an abundance of funny moments, situations and awkwardness. I was more than adequately entertained throughout the course of the entire movie, and I had many good laughs. You can always count of Leslie Mann to deliver a good performance in comedies like this, and "Blockers" is no different. However, I will say that John Cena actually surprised me a lot. His performance was actually quite good and he was cast quite well for that particular role. I must admit that I had strong reservations about watching him in a movie, but he nailed in here. And Ike Barinholtz was also quite hilarious in the movie. If you enjoy a light-hearted comedy that does not challenge your intellect, where you just sit back and enjoy the movie and have some laughs, then "Blockers" is definitely well worth picking up.
evanston_dad Saw this on a flight back from Denmark. If you've ever been on an 8-hour flight, you know that your standards for entertainment diminish in direct proportion to how long you've been sitting on your ass, and a movie like "Blockers" might seem like the height of hilarity when you would barely chuckle if you were watching it at home. As an airplane movie, "Blockers" was pretty funny, and funnier than I anticipated it being. As with any gross-out comedy, some of the jokes are pushed too hard and land with a thud, while others, mostly the more subtle one-liners, are good for a laugh or two. John Cena gets most of the physical comedy and looks uncomfortable most of the time, while Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz fare much better with the material, though Mann in particular is given disappointingly much less to do. Indeed, in a comedy that pats itself on the back for being about female liberation, it's unfortunate that the best material is still reserved for the male members of the cast.Grade: B
leadingbyexample Not worth typing... amateur... fails in every aspect. How was it a winner at the box office? Am I that out of touch?
thomassouth-49705 I thought the film was funny at times and had some really depth which shocked me. Now for the negatives there was a few SJW speeches that ruined the tone for me .
