Suburbicon Audience Reviews

VividSimon Simply Perfect
VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
Murphy Howard I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
jediknight-36516 I just watched this movie and thought everything from story, writing, acting and our very stupid faults as human beings were amazing! There is violence happening against a black family that moves into a seemingly "normal" white 1950's community. While this savage violence is occurring, literally right behind their backs is one of the most sinister family distructions I've ever seen! Look, if you have never seen a Cohen Brothers movie, if you haven't seen one of George Clooney's directed movies, if you don't see the dark humour or the Hitchcockian take on this film, then it just isn't for you! Don't come on here just to complain, it's a review. I for one don't think its the most perfect movie ever made, but it certainly does tell two adjacent stories that show what hate can blind you from. Highly recommend!
donaldsonbrian This movie had the making of something potentially good - I'm a fan of George et al but this didn't live up to expectations !!
thomasjay-52277 Clooney's involvement behind the scenes and its naïveté is perhaps why this film bombed, with script and story changes and an inexperienced director this film lacks the charm that the Coen's would've bought with them and instead of feeling like a fantastically crafted World it's more of an attempt of a student. An all star cast and genuinely intriguing plot there's much that could've been. Not absolutely awful but not what could've been
reb-warrior A "perfect" little all-white town gets their panties in a twist when a black family, the Mayers, move there in the 1950's. The racist people in town behave like animals, harassing them, and violently protesting and destroying property. Acting like the Mayers are bad, when in fact they are a warm and loving wholesome family. In the meantime, two white sociopaths, Gardner and Rose(Matt Damon and Julianne Moore), live next door to the black family and are murdering people. Some bad stuff has happened. The town eventually finds out about four deaths. The sociopaths are tied to them all. The rest of the town doesn't know this. However, that doesn't stop them from vilifying the black family, by saying "nothing bad ever happened here until they moved in."I think it's a bit too artsy fartsy with it, especially at the beginning. Other than that, it's a great movie, with a subject that's relevant today. If you like satirical moves with important messages about society, this movie may be for you. Or you can open your mind and give it a try. I gave it a 8/10
