WWE New Year's Revolution 2006 Audience Reviews

Plantiana Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
ReaderKenka Let's be realistic.
Marketic It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
Borserie it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.
Stuart Wilson Just like last years event WWE New Years Revolution 2006 was headlined by an Elimination Chamber match. The difference between last years and this years match however was the entertainment value. In reality only three people stood a chance of walking out of the Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York with the WWE Championship. Those men were current champion John Cena, Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels. There was no way Vinnie Mac would put the belt on any of the rookies; Carlito or Chris Masters. And Kane? Kane last held the WWE Championship in June 1998, and that was only for one night. It was obvious he wasn't going to be the one either. Last years match was a thrilling affair with six of the best WWE had to offer. 2006 was a predictable and disappointing affair but still the match of the night by far.The only surprise of the evening came after the bell had run on the main event. Out strolled Vince McMahon himself and demanded they lift the chamber. It was then announced that Edge was cashing in his money in the bank championship match right then and there. With no time to prepare and just off the back of winning the Elimination Chamber match John Cena did not stand a chance and dropped the title after a spear to one of the most entertaining heels in WWE. This was the only entertaining piece of action that happened all night. The undercard, like last year, was truly atrocious. Triple H and The Big Show put on a snore fest that had me struggling to stay away. HHH picked up the win but that was never in any real doubt was it? Any pay-per-view that has both Jerry Lawler and Viscera wrestling on the same card will never have any chance of becoming a success really does it. The King pinned Helms (who books this stuff?) and Big Vis tasted defeat against the wasted Shelton Benjamin with a little help from his Mama. The women of the WWE also had a busy night. There was the usual Diva nonsense with a Bra and Panties Gauntlet match which was won by Ashley and the Woman's Championship was also on the line. In a match, I thought would have been left to brew till WrestleMania 22 Mickie James challenged Trish Stratus in a good match. Trish won the contest but it was evident that this is going to continue for the foreseeable future. The opening contest of the night pitted soon to be WWE Champion Edge against Intercontinental Champion, Ric Flair. This could have been better but it was a battered and bloody Flair that retained after a disqualification finish. Edge obviously had bigger fish to fry.So New Years Revolution kicked off the 2006 pay-per-view calendar in disastrous fashion. The only good thing from that is knowing that for the WWE the only way is up. They don't get much worse than this.
GazibBegins 1)Intercontinental Title: Ric Flair vs Edge (with Lita)About as good as it gets from Flair these days, he actually picked Edge up. Highlight of the match is Flair's pelvic thrusts and woos towards Lita. Flair wins by DQ when Edge smashes him with the brief case (had to get that in one last time didn't they?) Match rating:2 out of 52) Mickie James vs Trish StratusSurprisingly good women's match, kinda cool that they're letting the women do technical wrestling now. Mickie James gets the Mick Kick but takes to long to cover so Trish wins with the chick kick. Best you'll see from the women. 3.5 out of 5 (by women's standards)3) Gregory Helms vs Jerry Lawler Where are you, Rob Conway? I'm not even going to try to describe what happens in this "match". Jerry Lawler wins with the fist drop. Wow. Match rating 0 out of 5. 4)Big Show vs Triple H Stop complaining, Triple H has done a lot of losing lately. This one goes back and forth. Triple H does his best to carry the mammoth and uses his resourcefulness to get the cast off. Triple H hits him with a piece of sledgehammer and wins with an even worse pedigree than the one he did on viscera. Match rating 3 out of 55)Shelton Benjamin vs Viscera Where are you, Rob Conway? Worst Benjamin match ever. My friend and I stopped and played chess during the middle of this one. We had to put it on mute because Shelton's mama wouldn't shut her aunt Jamima yap. Benjamin wins with a spin kick that never pins anyone but was good enough here. Match rating 1 out of 5.6)Bra and Panties Gauntlet Match: Boobies, booty's. All you need to know. Ashley and ever male in the audience and watching at home wins. Match rating 500 out of 5.7)WWE Title: John Cena vs Kane vs HBK vs Angle vs Carlito vs Disasters Order of entry: HBK, Cena, Carlito, Angle, Masters, Kane. Order of elimination: Angle, Kane, HBK, Masters, Carlito. Worst. Chamber. Ever. Nothing could top this suck-age. The best guy was eliminated first and the best two below him right after that. This left us with Carlito, Masters, and Cena in the same situation where we had Batista, Orton, and Triple H last year. Drop off in talent anyone?! Masters is double crossed and rolled up by Carlito who is immediately rolled up by Cena. Puke.8) WWE Title: John Cena vs Edge What a shocker. Vince knew he had to do something to save this crap fest. He's not as far gone from what the fans want as we think. It's just that when you give them everything they want right away... it turns into Smackdown. Edge cashes in his money in the bank brief case (it's my theory that he's been using the brief case as his finisher to work on his weak spear) He spears Cena to hell the first time, possibly the best one I've seen him do since he took out Orton with a great one on his return. Cena kicks out. Puke. He lines up and hits another spear. I tell my friend if Cena kicks out of this then we won't know what happens cuz the coffee table is going through the screen. But he doesn't kick out, Cena falls for the 1-2-3. New champion, great moment for a guy who really deserved it. Great to see Cena lose the title. May he never gain it back. Match rating: 5 out 5 for shock value.
wrestlingsitewebmaster For some reason WWE has this thing about New Years Revolution. Firstly they have an abysmal under card and secondly they throw in the Elimination chamber. This years New Years Revolution was no different, it was crap basically. Results from the show: Ric Flair defeated Edge via DQ to retain the Intercontinental Championship in an average match. Trish Stratus defeated Mickie James to retain the Women's Championship in an enjoyable match. Shelton Benjamin defeated Viscera in a passable match. Triple H defeated Big Show in a decent brawl. Jerry Lawler defeated Gregory Helms in a passable match. Ashley won the bra and panties gauntlet match. John Cena defeated Carlito, Chris Masters, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle and Kane in a passable Elimination Chamber match. Edge defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship. Not good! Overall Grade - D
Ikepoiyen668894 A very poor pay per view, which was only saved a rating of 5, by the shock that happened at the end. anyone who tells you differently is lying and is purely over excited just because cena lost the title. it was an awful pay per view.1. Ric Flair Vs Edge IC TITLE 5/10 Not great, all ric flair obviously did was chop, the ending was pathetic.2. Mickie James vs Trish Stratus WOMENS TITLE 4/10 a decent womens match though overshadowed by mickie james sloppiness, shes better then a lot but she still needs a bit of work.3. Jerry Lawler Vs Gregory Helms 3/10 A card filler, no i repeat that a crap card filler, nobody cared and rightly so.4. Big Show Vs Triple H 6/10 A decent match certainly better then the others, was a bit slow though , but what do you expect from Big Slow, i mean Big Show.5. Shelton Benjamin Vs Viscera 3/10 Another woeful card filler made even worse by the loudness of Benjy's "Momma"6. Bra and Panties gauntlet - Ill rate this one on how good the divas look, Torrie 8/10 Victoria 8/10 Maria 7.5/10 Ashley 9.5/10 Candice 9/107. Elimination Chamber 7/10 Best match of the night but the worse chamber so far, crowd was well into it or should i say well into cena, for and against, lots of boos and cheers but you could hear the boo boys loud and clear, which slightly took away the gist of the match , it was meant to be a chamber match, not a war between cena and his haters.elimination orders were done in a strange way and not in a good way, then of course the win is completed by a few roll ups, great!! NOT!8. EDGE VS JOHN CENA WWE TITLE 0/10 FOR CENA FANS....10/10 FOR NON CENA FANS...THATS THE BEST WAY TO SUM UP THIS SHOCKING MOMENT. IT WAS SHOCKING CUS THE MATCH Wasn't SCHEDULED..AND WE JUST HAD A CHAMBER, YET EDGE COMES DOWN AND WINS THE TITLE...HALF THE CROWD ARE IN SHOCK AND DEVASTATION AND LOOK LIKE THERE GONNA CRY, I GUESS THOSE WERE THE CENA FANS, THE OTHER HALF CENA HATERS WERE ESTATIC, THOUGH ONE GUY IN A YELLOW SHIRT TOOK IT A BIT TOO FAR, JUMPING UP AND DOWN LIKE AN IDIOT Wasn't Necessary. MY GOD THIS WAS SO SHOCKIN!!!
