ER Audience Reviews

BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Taha Avalos The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
drewstewartcola Almost every creator of a medical Drama since the 1990's has tried to copy this shows formula, but with no avail. The workplace dynamics are beautifully interwoven into every episode. The likable characters have their flaws and even the villains have redeeming values, the best part is viewers don't necessarily know where the show is headed, a novel idea for 1990's era TV. It was a bold show for an era in which producers rarely went away from a show's standard format. I'm writing this entry on March 18,2018, while the show is streaming on HULU. It's a binge watcher for sure. Many of the social issues ER dealt with like LGBT rights and sexual harassment were brought to the forefront in this cutting edge drama
Desertman84 E.R.(Emergency Room) is a medical drama TV series that follows the inner life of the emergency room of the fictional County General Hospital located in Chicago,Illinois and the professional as well as issues facing the doctors and the members of the staff. This show created by the late author Michael Crichton which is based on his personal experiences as an E.R. resident physician. It aired on NBC and had 15 seasons. Also,it has the distinction of becoming the longest medical drama TV series that was on air and has gained numerous awards due to being an excellent series. The cast of the show includes Anthony Edwards,George Clooney,Sherry Stringfield,Noah Wyle,Eriq La Salle,Julianna Margulies,Gloria Reuben,Laura Innes,Maria Bello,Alex Kingston,Kellie Martin, Paul McCrane,Goran Višnjić,Scott Grimes,John Stamos,David Lyons and Angela Bassett. Each episode provides the experiences of the doctors, nurses and staff of the County General Hospital particularly inside the busy Emergency Room that is characterized by overcrowded waiting rooms, staff shortages and the impact of the life-and-death decisions they deal with a patient.Added to that,it also provides us how balance their personal lives with the demands of their profession. Finally,we also get to see how the experienced doctors teach the young ones how to become great at their profession. This is definitely one great medical TV series. There is no hype in it.The writers of the show did an excellent job of presenting the viewer a realistic depiction of what doctors go through inside the E.R especially when dealing with a patient during a life and death situation. Also,we get to see compelling characters such as Dr. Mark Greene,Dr. Doug Ross, Dr. Susan Lewis, Dr. John Carter, Dr. Peter Benton,Nurse Carol Hathaway, Physician Assistant Jeanie Boulet,Dr. Kerry Weaver,Physician Assistant Jeanie Boulet and Dr. Kerry Weaver,Dr. Luka Kovač,Dr. Abby Lockhart, Dr. Elizabeth Corday, Dr. Robert Romano, Dr. Greg Pratt, Dr. Archie Morris, Dr. Neela Rasgotra,Dr. Ray Barnett,Nurse Samantha Taggart, intern Tony Gates, and Dr. Catherine Banfield all throughout during the show's run. In addition to what's happening inside the E.R.,the show also tackled social and political issues such as HIV and AIDS, organ transplants, mental illness, racism, human trafficking, euthanasia, poverty and gay rights. No wonder it is a classic.
irem-gurcan I started watching ER 4 years ago. A TV channel in my country was showing it, I was flipping channels and I ran across this TV Show where some doctors working on patients. This was different for me, so I started watching. Soon, I became addicted of the show. Unfourtanetly, I started watching it from the 5th season, so I didn't know the whole storyline , but I got used to it. Though I didn't know so much about Lucy, her death affected me a lot. This is what caused ER to became much success. In every single episode, one patients/doctors death, injury or just an experience that changed his/her life was shown magnificently. I watched it every day, when that TV channel stopped showing it, I bought the DVDs, I found other ways to watch it and when it finished, I felt an emptiness. There was no longer a show that showed the true life and work of doctors. I can't say whether the show changed in a bad way after the original characters left, because I didn't watch the first 4 seasons, but I can say that I watched the later cast (first Weaver,Corday,Romano then Abby, Luka, Morris, Pratt, Sam) with joy and happiness and it still affected me. Anyway, this show was the best show in the TV history.
mlmcknight I'm just rating this show up through the end of the season where Mark Green died. This show was one of the best acted, most moving shows I've ever watched. There are far too many high points to list all of them, but....Carol's suicide attempt in the pilot. The stabbing of Carter & Lucy: after that, I couldn't watch the reruns with Lucy anymore. It is so strange to think that two hours of TV could be that traumatic. The episode where Mark screwed up and a woman died while giving birth. Mark weeping on the el at the end was heart breaking.Mark and his first wife getting caught by the staff while being intimate. They accidentally hit the call button and most of the ER staff ran thinking someone needed assistance. So funny! Mark's last day in the ER, when he told a hypochondriac that he had an inoperable brain tumor and that he won. Mark telling Carter "you set the tone" The death of Shep's partner from severe burns. The man who got sprayed with acid. It interacted with his body chemistry, and they couldn't save him. Carol tried, in vain, to help him say goodbye to his estranged daughter. His ex-wife wouldn't allow it. Carol sat with him while he died. The stillbirth of Carter's child. This was after Mark's death, but was still a very good episode. Carter collapsed into his father's arms, and later helped convinced his future wife to hold their dead child and say goodbye. When Carol left to be with Doug. The two part death of Mark episodes. I'm a man, and I'm unashamed to admit that I wept like a baby. Those are just a few. I'm still amazed at how much this show could move you. My personal opinion: when Mark died, they should have ended the show. He was the heart of the show.
