Fortitude Audience Reviews

Artivels Undescribable Perfection
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
phoenixivmark Fortitude is intriguing and becomes more so. It moves slowly so you become complacent and then someone steps out from behind a door and they have a large sharp knife in hand and they are not cleaning fish. The landscape is beautiful and cold. The pace of the series is an acquired taste and you may wish to think you have finally grasped what the hell is going on and then you find you're as cold as the frozen landscape.Nothing seems to be as it first appears. The local police hero is well find out for yourself. The innocent, well on second thought not sure there are any in this series. Maybe I should say victims but I think they are all victims or will be. It would be nice if they solved something once in a while and could move on to a new twist.I just found this series and don't even know how long it will last. The cast in this does a really frightening and fantastic job.....some real psychos.....
corymegan There are already good reviews here describing what and how this series is great. I just want to add a few bits.~ Global warming is upon us, human greed and bad attitudes present, and a spin on killer zombies that totally works!~ There are 8 women characters in . Like the series, each is beautifully multi-layered and the characters develop slowly. It's rare to have so many interesting women characters in one place. Great writing! ~ There are several moving and surprising love stories, also beautifully developed.I stopped watching Fortitude because I couldn't keep up with the heavy English, Norwegian, and Swedish accents. However, using subtitles filled in just enough and I'm so pleased to have met this Nordic Noir.
andriz As much as you would enjoy nordic drama - little, but tight community, cold, dark, rough climate and hard, no-nonsense people with few words and warm hearts in hiding deep down- you cant get it here. Its not that it isn't just that kind of show - no, it is actually, that's exactly what it tries to be. But fails with homeric laughs. The director of the show probably - and this is really going to sound ridiculous considering how much money studio has spent on this - but director has probably never been in those countries where the action takes place. There's so many ridiculous things - not only about Norway or Iceland, but just about culture in cold or northern countries - that its just reaches to absurd. For example children riding their bikes with hunting rifles on their back? Come on! Or a sauna scene at episode 1? That's how Mexican or arabian person imagine sauna culture, in real life strangers don't go to sauna naked. Not even most beautiful ones - who do know - also in northern countries believe it or not - that they are hot, especially when naked. And in season 1 almost half the cast afroamericans?? Its simply absurd - iceland and Greenland are not multiracial society's - European countries are nation-based countries, like it or not, thats simply how it is. In whole Iceland there is probably not more than 100 or maybe 200 black people, if that. And most of them are also just temporarily. Or what about the old mans home - 200 square meters hall with 5 m ceilings with one open chimney in the wall :D Are we talking about David Rockefeller? To heat up a room that size in a polar conditions where there's -50, -60 Celsius constantly... it takes... what... about 1000 to 1500 dollars a month to heat it up properly - that's why polar stations are small cubicles, not a huge house's. But not with a chimney like that - you need radiators and heat pumps and stuff - a LOT of those.Basically this show is as if someone has made a show about Acapulco where inhabitants spend a good time by skiing and ice skating, enjoy occasional swims in ocean with seals, where children ride their bikes with a bow in hand and all people look like vikings
gce2308 Fortitude. It's another name for "guts", right?Someone's idea of a joke to give the stupid thing that title, I guess. And boy oh boy, there sure are lots and lots and lots of guts to be seen in this very disappointing heap of garbage. Started out OK, got progressively sillier in Season 2, and I agree with another reviewer who talked about the numerous gory parts, some of which were just plain sickening. I was so hoping Sheriff Dan would die very early on, his voice got more and more annoying as time passed - even more so than his awful over-acting and extra-cheesy grin. And a special mention for the blonde lady cop's way of speaking. Chalkboard. Fingernails. Had my suspicions things were getting weird at the end of S1, and I really hoped it would get better, but it just got worse. Mind you, because it was getting too weird I did lose interest in parts and played some Candy Crush. So I must have missed what happened to the kid that first got possessed. Where did he and his mother go? Who cares. Avoid.
