Freaks and Geeks Audience Reviews

TinsHeadline Touches You
Lucybespro It is a performances centric movie
Abbigail Bush what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
ComedyFan2010 This is an amazing TV show. I would say it is one of the most realistic portrayal of high school life that I have ever seen. My high school time was around the same when this show aired and I could connect my memories to many things that happened on the show. Most of the actors were not known back then but now watching it is like watching a show full of comedy stars. Which is a good thing because it makes me happy they got the success they deserved. All characters bring something to the show. Most of them aren't too deep, but this is because only a season passed. If it went on longer we sure would see more development. There is no character that I disliked. Parents, teachers, freaks, geeks, popular kids they all have humanity in them.Every episode keeps one watching and being interested in what happens and triggers a lot of feelings. Happy and sad ones. So how come it was cancelled? I think so far it is the biggest loss on TV that this show never went past the first season.
aslanerh-39120 First of all, canceling this show must be regarded as a crime and the responsible people for this must be found :)A Saturday show, not airing it regularly, ignoring the viewer and critics, then the problem is the advert income, right? I am sorry, but as we still have the same problem all over the world, there are so many untalented bosses, executives, managers, directors, politicians who do not appreciate the good work. Here, for this show, they didn't appreciate the good acting. If I were the executive of NBC, I would have fired the person who caused the show to stop. So I don't know now if we should allude Garth Ancier or Jeff Zucker. Thanks a lot guys!!!
LedgersGirl "Freaks and Geeks", a TV show that I accidentally saw on TV and then I became a fan. There is something about this show that made me watch every episode several times and I think, it is because of the reality of the situations in witch characters were in. There you can see real problems that teenagers deal with back in the 80s, 90s and even nowadays teenagers can relate to "F&G". The cast is excellent. Unlike in some teen comedies and series, the actors look like they really attend high school. The show presents two high school cliques, "feaks" and "geeks". Freaks have some troubles of having to get their lives together, trying to solve family problems, deciding what do they want to do in their lives. But on the other side we have geeks. They are trying to fit in and be accepted, they are searching for love and respect. And there is another thing that is great about "F&G", the music. You can hear The Who, Lynyard Skynyard and many others. 10/10
Mr-Fusion There's an authenticity at the heart of "Freaks and Geeks" that won me over when I first watched it, and keeps me coming back again and again. It's set way before I ever went to high school, but the issues herein are timeless. And the writing for these characters hits on the anxieties of coming-of-age, at least for me. This is subject matter that varies from hilarious to deeply sad - both genuinely so. What's odd (or cool) is that, in a cast full of future comedy stars, it's Martin Starr who gets all of the great lines (not to mention the pivotal role in "Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers", my vote for series best episode). And they really nailed 1980, not just with the soundtrack (a stellar list of song choices) but also the production design. Knock a point off for seeing no snow during a school year, but seeing as they were depicting suburban Detroit in Newhall, California, they did a bang-up job. It feels real without looking like they just plastered products on the set. Case in point, the Weir house; lived-in and decorated by baby boomers. You've seen this kind of house before. The quality here is beyond question. This is a personal favorite.10/10
