Homicide Hunter: Lt Joe Kenda Audience Reviews

Lawbolisted Powerful
Dotsthavesp I wanted to but couldn't!
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
mmyersjean I love Joe Kenda, in a way, although I'm British he reminds me of my father, also Joe. He was a police inspector & his steely professional gaze, like that of Kenda belied a very kind hearted generous man.I enjoy the intercourse between the real Joe and actor Joe. Mr Kenda's knowledge of guns, velocity are carefully explained, as are blood splatter, knife wounds etc.Really great character & great show. Long may it run
Nick First let me say I love true crime shows and have watched them all.Homicide Hunter was very good in its early seasons. However the show has fallen off in the last few seasons. A documentary crime show is only as good as the crimes or crime the show is documenting. The problem with Homicide Hunter over the last few years, is the crimes covered. Most have been either uninteresting, or simple open and shut cases that were dragged out like they were whodunits. I've read many court documents of the cases covered in homicide hunter(most can be found easily on google) because I suspected many of the cases were not as difficult as the show made it seem. Sure enough with many of the cases the suspect was known almost immediately or the case was solved almost immediately. Also on many of these case facts detectives on the case were mentioned but not Lt. Joe Kenda. The problem with Homicide Hunter is its a show covering Colorado Springs where there just aren't as many murders or interesting, random, mystery type homicides to pick from as in Washington D.C., Detroit, New York etc. They have run out of good crimes to cover. The first 2 or maybe 3 seasons were good though. The best documentary crime shows ever are still the early ones, FBI Files, Forensic Files.
anglpets I came across this show completely by mistake one night, and I'll admit I'm kind of hooked on crime shows. I want to start off to say that I've NEVER wrote a review for any TV show and given it a 10/10 before. I'm writing this review so I can encourage others to watch, and to make sure this show doesn't get cancelled! HAHA! I'll do a quick summary for you of the show without any spoilers of course, although it would be extremely hard for me to give you any spoilers since every episode is different. You're following Lt Joe Kenda who's worked as a homicide detective for over 20+ years and has solved over 400 (approx) cases. What I love about this show is Lt Joe Kenda will tell you exactly what happened and you follow along almost on the edge of your seats along with him as he tries to solve the murder of the person(s). Lt Joe Kenda is a very forward straightlaced older gentleman who tells it like it is! He doesn't cry, get angry, yell or anything like that, he stays VERY monotone throughout each and every episode with the occasional witty remark/joke. This definitely ISN'T like any other crime show out there... It's WAY better! I can assure you this isn't anything like Dateline or 20/20 where they just tell you the story. Some of the stuff can be "scary" for anyone under the age of 14, so I'd definitely not recommend this for anyone under that age. Because even though some scenes are reenactments, it can definitely scare a youngster. But to just wrap everything up here, if you're looking for a new type of crime show THIS IS IT! Definitely take my word on it and commit to watching at least 1 episode. Because after 1 episode, I have a feeling you'll continue to watch it. I've got a lot of my family and friends hooked on this show! LOL!
boazsd Joe Kenda is not only real, he is REAL..got the mug and t-shirt for Xmas from my family.. We love the storytelling aspect of the show ... his macabre sense of humor, fellow officers and editing of the series make it an a-1 production. My husband, who is puzzled by my obsession with ID Discovery channel (24-7) watches only this show and is disappointed when it is not on or recorded. With this many cases solved by Kenda, we should be able to look forward to many more seasons of this series.. again, not good that people were murdered, but the fact that they were caught and put behind bars/got their just deserts is gratifying.Which brings me to the next question... have there been/will there be episodes that touch on the unsolved cases? it takes a village! would love to help kenda!
