FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

tupolev72 This show is what I consider to be the worst and most poorly written and produced shows ever to be aired on TV. Why? Because Ashley Judd's performance is one of the worst I have ever seen, due to the fact that she's supposed to be a good, tough ex-CIA mother who is looking for her son. Instead, her performance gives the wrong image and it makes her character look more like a fascist woman. It has even led me to hate Ashley Judd.To make matters worse, the poor screen writing by creator Gregory Poirier for the pilot episode leads to people not understand if she is actually a good or bad mother to her son, as he fails to explain one important thing that Ashley said that could explain if she really is a bad mother or not.I've even figured out that most of the cast are well known in Hollywood instead of TV, which leads me to believe that they used this casting as an excuse to cover the terrible writing. When I saw it, I thought it was good, but one year later, I have realized that I made a terrible mistake when I discovered the poor acting by Ashley Judd and screen writing and this will be a mistake I will regret for the rest of my life. So, if you're about to watch this, you're wasting you time, because if you do, you will regret it for a long time like I do. In reality, I think this was a show that deserved to be canceled.
filmboom I wholeheartedly CONCUR with "julesrulesny" assessment of the network's pulling the plug on "Missing". Did you see the 2012 Emmy broadcast? You know...the awards show wherein NONE of the four original networks were NOMINATED for awards for TV Drama?!!They HAD a good thing in Missing and they BLEW IT. It was severely underestimated and might have been a case of self-fulfilling prophecy. As in, "I think I heard a neighbor of my daughter's who said he didn't like it, so let's pull it off the air".Whatever...Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the absence of the networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS) nominations, tossing it off as the citizenry "wanting to see boobs" which was underestimating the loathing the people of the U.S. have for the original three. If you want good shows, tune in to AMC, Fox, TNT, USA! Screw the networks who are under the thumbs of censors! I worked in the film business for 30 years and have been watching TV Drama for twice that long and MY assessment? Missing...another show too good for TV.
phoodphite@hotmail.com There are a lot of good ingredients in this series. Good concept, writing, acting and direction. For such a high-paced drama, it's not too difficult to learn and follow the characters, yet there is plenty of development to keep things really interesting. I really didn't know what to expect and was hooked from the first episode. After the first couple of episodes, I felt like I had been watching a very good spy movie, not a TV series. There is a fair amount of action and the story line is far from predictable (but not confusing). And, to boot, the sets and locations shot in high quality are something you would want a great spy movie to have in this day and age. Watching these episodes, I felt more like I was in some of these Europena and eastern European countries than if I had been watching a HD travel channel. Hopefully, in the next season, there will be more of the world traveled by the cast and us, the viewers.A great cast - Judd, Carradine, Curtis, Bean - even the younger actors - very good. This is the only TV drama that I stayed with all season and it was well worth it.
ldddhunter I really love Ashley Judd in this role she does rock!! She is great playing a mother determined to get her son back. I like the story line and yes it does have a touch of "Taken" - which I loved and Liam Neeson was just phenomenal in this movie....I do have to say as far as women kicking a** on TV shows right now I give that award to Maggie Q on Nikita she does ALL of her own stunts and her mentor/teacher is Jackie Chan - what more could you ask for, right? Yeah he plays goofy roles at times but Maggie said they are very close friends and do cut up BUT when it comes to training he is VERY SERIOUS and means business. I applaud Ashley for taking such a demanding role like this, and she's very believable as well. So far..I love this show and Cliff Curtis is so easy on the eyes; I love him in everything he does, also the characters of Ashley and Cliff have A LOT of chemistry and could see them getting involved romantically somewhere down the road- that would be GREAT!!
