Partners in Crime Audience Reviews

Raetsonwe Redundant and unnecessary.
Reptileenbu Did you people see the same film I saw?
AutCuddly Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
wilburjimenezdelarosa You completely destroyed and not in a good way my favorite classic agatha novel. You made it very gloomy and Tommy's character was made like a 2 dimensional character with no facial expressions whatsoever. I couldve written this better. What were the writers thinking? And the worst part was changing a lot of things especially the ENDING!! you removed the shock factor!! You shouldve sticked to how it was written by Agatha. Ugliest book remake ever that I almost puked!
kamcgnt I admit that I could only tolerate about 30 minutes of this awful show before turning it off and hitting delete. For a reason I have never comprehended, some screenwriters think they can construct better stories and plots than the woman who has sold more murder mysteries and thrillers than any other author. For no good reason, the story was set 30 years later than in the book and in that era it makes no sense. Even in the brief part I watched, the original story was mangled, again for no good reason, beyond recognition. Tommy and Tuppence are my favourite Agatha Christie characters but they are completely unrecognisable in this terrible attempt at a TV 'adaptation'. The character playing Tommy is badly miscast and portrays him as a bumbling idiot: in the books, he was a twice wounded WWI veteran, intelligent (often solving the mystery before Tuppence) but reluctant to jump to conclusions. The portrayal of Tuppence, and her relationship with Tommy (or lack of it, in the show), was poor beyond belief.Agatha Christie can be done well and is done well when those involved respect the plots, the period and the characters. I have recently bought, and watched yet again, the wonderful Miss Marple adaptations starring Joan Hickson. Hickson portrays Miss Marple brilliantly and the plots have only those changes needed to turn a novel into a TV show.
Lynn Smith This was so bad I couldn't even watch to the end of the first episode! Not even for lovely Alice Krige - whatever was she thinking, becoming involved with such a ludicrous production? Agatha Christie would be appalled and everyone associated with this misbegotten project should be ashamed of themselves. The writing was unbelievable, the production values very poor and the acting so wooden it was like walking through a forest. It wasn't funny where it was meant to be amusing, and certainly not dramatic where it should have been. About the only things true to the period (wrong one, by the way) were the clothes and lovely old cars. One can only hope we've seen the last of Tommy and Tuppence. I certainly won't be tempted to view their befuddled exploits again.
kushka53-454-558392 The male lead is utterly wooden and the pace is tedious at best. In the plot development, ludicrous and foolish choices are often made by him and his wife that no one in their right mind would make and live to tell about it! Perhaps with a different male lead and better directing this could have gone somewhere but as it stands it is very disappointing. Given the quality of murder mysteries (Lewis, Wire in the Blood, etc) and spy stories that come out of the UK (MI-5 for ex) this show is almost amateurish. The technical details are fine--lighting, locations, camera-work but the director and editor should look for other work!
