Penn & Teller: Bull! Audience Reviews

Wordiezett So much average
SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Curt Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
kingbk-2 Comedic magic duo Penn & Teller take their unique, creative performance and turn it into an analysis of modern life in "Bullshit!" In our modern world where pseudo science and fads make people do crazy things, Penn & Teller turn this into a deep examination on the beliefs and habits people today follow and how many times people don't ask the hard questions before deciding to believe what they do believe. The duo is known for their strong libertarian streak, and they don't hide this ever during the program, but if you're like me and have two-party fatigue, you will appreciate how they call the hypocrisies of both the liberals and the conservatives. At the same time, they never tell you to believe or not believe something, but rather give you reasons to think critically about issues and teach you how to avoid being conned. They also point out how for being a free and independent county, many of our freedoms are vanishing (universal health care, gun control, environmentalism, etc.) Some of the topics, such as religion, intelligent design, PETA, and bottled water, are terrific and really present solid arguments on the validity or non-validity of these topics. Some episodes aren't as strong and sometimes the arguments are far reaching, but on some topics, they are right on the money with their doubts. You don't have to agree with them on everything and I certainly don't, but if you want to learn about thinking critically about every issue you face, this show is a good foundation for doing that. With fads like gluten free diet (you can't be gluten intolerant unless you have celiac disease, which less than 10% of the population has), avoiding vaccines (diseases thought long gone are returning), and crossfit (an exercise program that is more harmful than helpful and becoming somewhat a cult), it's good to have the knowledge to think it through and sniff out the bullshit.
wildfire-19 This show is so terrible it's not even worth watching after a few Episodes of it, Penn and Teller are clearly showing what Fruitcakes they are and with their shitty Biased opinions on every Paranormal Subject under the Sun proves what a totally crap show it is.They totally ripped the Bible apart but the fact of the matter is the Bible has been written by a group of Dodgy old men anyway that just wrote the scripture to how it suited them and their Beliefs. Christians believe it all to be true though they can if they want.I will just state this though, when it's their time to die and I hope thats soon cause their stupid asses shouldn't be shown on TV anymore they will find out that our consciousness survives bodily death everything unexplainable in this world points towards it.Swearing constantly and carrying on the way they do proves they have pea sized brains, Total knobs is all they are. I hope they read this cause I think the lowest of low of them.
t-travis At first I thought this show might be a more energetic approach to discussing pressing issues. Big mistake. I read a previous comment that used the word 'propaganda' and i couldn't agree more. this show is horrible, and it becomes even more horrible when you realize that some people actually think that this show has a shred of credibility. They don't make the slightest attempt to engage in objective discussion on anything. the entire show is just their opinion on whatever the subject may be. for instance, the show on abstinence was a complete joke and took on the familiar anti-Christian spin. They constantly pull percentages out of thin air and think that they are proving something. They find the worst representatives of the other side in a transparent attempt to discredit their view. I've never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life than the nonsense in the abstinence program. They had some so-called expert on they saying that babies the womb routinely pleasure themselves. They had a rep from planned parenthood say that abstinence programs teach that touching someone's genitals will result in pregnancy. Best of all, the capped off the show by saying that you should make you own decision and not left someones religious 'fairy tales' guide you. This order coming from someone saying not to take orders. The show is laced with so much unnecessary profanity its difficult to watch. Every other word if profanity, and it adds nothing to the show. This show is just another wolf in sheep's clothing tool used to spew its agenda to the public. Horrible. The most troubling part of it is that some person is actually going to go into this show with an open, unbiased mind think that this show is objective and journalistic, and because they have to fun-loving, non-confrontational goofs starring the show, they won't take this show for what it is, just a piece of propaganda.
tmnoble Penn and Teller Bull$#!t is one of, if not THE best show on the boob tube these days. They call people out for what they are, frauds and opportunists who prey on the weak willed, weak minded, and easy targets. I agree with everything that I've seen on this show, each and every episode, and all Penn and Teller do is expose more reasons to be a sarcastic, cynical, question-asking naysayer. This is about the only show that I will say is worth what you pay for the DVDs 100%! They are great to watch over and over, and to show to whatever friends come by, and expose them to the brilliance! Not to mention, that if you enjoy this show (and who wouldn't), you have to check out Penn's free radio show, it's full of the same irreverence and monkey love that I've come to expect from the big loud-mouth member of the magic team!
