Alicia I love this movie so much
Nonureva Really Surprised!
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
RoswellFan Based on the first season, I would have given it nine stars, but after seeing the (frustrating) direction the writers took during the second season, I dropped it to one! The first season was intriguing. You had sympathy for the characters and wanted answers. However, the second season became more of a soap opera and revealed virtually nothing. I wanted the episodes to head in the direction of why the dead returned but was greatly disappointed instead. After several episodes I lost interest. After it was cancelled, a fan wrote to the local TV critic inquiring about the ending, how the writers would have explained the dead returning. Well, it turns out that they never planned to reveal this, for they had no explanation!! Now, if you base an entire series on an incredible premise, you damn well better have an explanation! Not doing so is not only a disservice to the fans but is poor writing. That is THE reason for a one star rating.
MacrosTheBlack2014 I have to say that my excitement peaked around mid first episode and then dropped steadily thereafter. I went through to the bitter end and I would emphasize on the word 'Bitter' as the conclusion left me with a WTF moment in terms of it's utter lameness. Thank goodness for Michelle Fairley adding a little bit of quality, but even her role was lost in the monotony. The lead actors seemed to tick along waiting for the next hammy line. The romance thread for Bellamy skidded around the edge but never quite delivered either. The actor himself I don't think was strong enough to carry the series. There was never any emotional investment between his relationship with Jacob from the beginning..... If you have really nothing else to watch, then stick it on. Otherwise, file it under great premise, poor execution. Not to be opened until further notice.
sigche We were interested in this series until religion started playing a bigger part in this. We've stopped watching, the pastor character with his hillbilly preaching and praying was just too much to stomach. :P If the show had stuck with the same story line as it did in the very beginning, just slightly giving an inclination that it could have something to do with God or aliens, then maybe we would think it was a good enough show to continue watching. We are avid fans of sci-fi and that is why we started watching this series. My husband and I feel this series has strayed from the sci-fi. We would love for this series to return to just sci-fi, it was a good show in the beginning.
benegesserit20 This review contains spoiler, please do not watch it before watching Season 1. This review and the current rating is based on Season 1.One of the perks of staying in the US for a while is the chance of watching TV shows freshly from the oven. The previews of Resurrection made me really interested in this show because this idea is very-very fascinating. I haven't seen the original French series yet, so this is not a comparison, it's the impression the first season made me have on its own merit. So far, it is quite disappointing. The first episode was pretty good and the season finale was quite good again, containing all the action that was so disturbingly missing from the rest of the season. Because all the in-between episodes either bored me senseless or just left me contemplating how is it possible to push so many unrealistic reactions of people into 6 short episodes. My problems are:Why is it that Jacob showed up in the other side of the world while everybody else appeared in or near Arcadia? (Well, maybe we'll get an answer to that one. Of course I don't expect them to reveal everything so early.) Do they seriously let a single agent (from Immigration and Custom Enforcement from all places, with all due respect) handle a problem of such a caliber for such a long time? Why did nobody truly freak out until the season finale? Are you seriously trying to convince me that no one broke the news to the media, to the FBI or to the army (and probably in this order)? Why was everything happening so terribly slowly? To sum it up: the first and last episodes of the season are pretty good, the rest is pretty much a waste of time. The season finale should have been episode 2. But they did manage to regain my interest, let's see where it goes in Season 2.
