Super Mario Bros. is one of the best-selling game series of all time, and since its first release in 1981, it has been turned into a movie several times, including 1993's bizarre Super Mario Bros. which grossed $20 million and had nothing to do with the game itself.
The Hollywood Reporter survey, conducted February 21-23, 2020 among 2,200 U.S. adults, found that 44 percent of users were "very" or "somewhat" interested in the Mario movie, with Pac-Man and Mario Kart tied for second place with 37 percent interested. In all three movies, interest was split equally between men and women
