David Cronenberg's new film, Future Crimes, has finally begun shooting. Great news for David Cronenberg fans. Kristen Stewart, Viggo Mortensen, Lea Seydoux, Scott Speedman and Lishi Konofsky, who star in the film, are all reportedly on location in Greece.

Future Crimes, written and directed by David Cronenberg, is a science fiction thriller that delves into a near future in which humans are learning to adapt to their synthetic environment, an evolution that takes humans beyond their natural state and begins to morph, altering their biological makeup. Some embrace the limitless potential of tranhumanism, while others try to control it. Either way, accelerated evolution syndrome is spreading fast. Saul Tenzer is a beloved performance artist who embraced accelerated evolution syndrome and grew unexpected new organs in his body. Together, Tenzer and his partner, Capris, turned the process of removing these organs into a spectacle -- performed in real time in a theater, to the amazement of its loyal supporters. But with both the government and the odd subculture concerned, Tenzer was forced to consider what would be his most shocking performance.

This future Crime is cronenberg's only work in nearly seven years, after a brief stint in 2014's Maps to the Stars. There are no specific release plans for Future Crimes.
