As an early superhero movie owned by Disney, Rocketer in 1991 seems to have been forgotten in the corner. A few days ago, some media reported that the film will be restarted on the streaming Disney+, and the restarted version of the film will be named The Return of the Rocketeer.

In order to conform to the trend of the times, Disney's current tentative male protagonist is the black actor David Oilo. However, the film is still in the early stages of preparation, and everything has not been determined. Rocketer is a film shot by Joe Johnson. The director later filmed Captain America and Agent Carter, etc., and is also a pioneer in the field of superhero movies.

The story of the film takes place in Hollywood in the 1930s. A secret military weapon accidentally fell into the hands of a competitive show pilot, Cliff. He was surprised by the propeller. In the end, he put on this black technology weapon and a mask, and became a heroic rocket player. However, everyone on all sides wanted to seize this secret weapon. In particular, there is a well-known Hollywood film actor, Neville, who is actually a Nazi intelligence man lurking in Hollywood. In order to win the Rockets, he also hijacked Cliff’s Girlfriend Jian Ning. Subsequently, Rocket Man Cliff launched his rescue operation.

The film was adapted from Dave Stevens' comic book of the same name, which was a household name at the time. In 1992, the film was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Drama Performance and Saturn Award for Best Science Fiction Film, but both lost to Terminator 2: Judgment Day. However, the film won the Saturn Award for Best Costume, and Jennifer Connery was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress, and Ken Ruston was also nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Special Effects. The background music of Rocket Player was composed by James Horner, and its soundtrack has received positive reviews and is often mentioned as an advantage of the movie.
