After investigation, in June 2021, the criminal suspect Liu saw the online hype information of Du meizhu and Kris Wu, so he had the idea of posing as a related person to defraud. During this period, Liu invented the identity of a woman, and in the name of being cheated by Kris Wu and wanting to protect their rights together, Liu cheated Du meizhu's trust, and used the wechat signal "DDX" to contact Du meizhu and obtain some information about the communication between Du meizhu and Kris Wu. On July 10, Liu used the obtained information to contact lawyer Kris Wu in the name of Du meizhu, claiming for 3 million yuan in compensation in the name of the settlement between the two parties, and sent both his bank account and Du meizhu's to lawyer Kris Wu. Meanwhile, Liu used the wechat account of Beijing World Culture Media, claiming to be lawyer Kris Wu, and negotiated with Du meizhu to reach a settlement compensation of 3 million yuan, but the two parties did not sign a settlement agreement.
On July 11, Kris Wu's mother transferred 500,000 yuan to Du meizhu's account in two separate payments. After that, Liu, who did not get the money, continued to pretend to be Du meizhu and attempted to ask for the remaining 2.5 million yuan from Lawyer Kris Wu. After posing as Lawyer Kris Wu, he asked Du meizhu to sign a settlement agreement, otherwise he would claim back 500,000 yuan. After Du meizhu agreed to the refund, Liu posed as lawyer Kris Wu and provided his Alipay account to Du meizhu, and Du meizhu successively transferred 180,000 yuan to the account.
After Liu was caught, he confessed to his fraud crime. At present, Liu has been chaoyang public security bureau criminal detention in accordance with the law.
