The new film The Card Counter, written and directed by Paul Schrader, has exposed a brand new trailer. In the trailer, the actor played by Oscar Isaac met his former instructor from the military academy. But his friend decided to find the instructor for revenge, so the two joined forces to embark on a journey of revenge.

The whole trailer is full of jokes and irony. The combination of icy shots with electronic music and sharp editing makes it seem that the whole world is bizarre, and no human being is normal. Tell, played by Isaac, just wants to play cards. But he met Crick in the casino, a young man eager to get revenge, and his target of revenge was the instructor in the military academy.

In desperation, Thiel took Crick and shuttled through the casinos together. In this process, Tyre gradually fell into the dark life of his past. Judging from the plot of the film, this is very much like a summary of the script written by Schrader before. Prior to this, Schrader had written the scripts of films such as Taxi Driver, American Dancer, Psychedelic Life, and The Walker.

Many of his stories can be called a man in the room, the protagonist goes from anger to narcissism to anxiety, and finally becomes a person living under a mask. Paul Schrader is a Hollywood scholar-type filmmaker. In addition to writing scripts and directors, he also does aesthetic research. His Transcendentalist Style in Movies is a classic. Schrader's work is often to create a self-destructive protagonist, or to accept a task that goes against his own principles. The end of the movie is the salvation of the protagonist, often with a painful sacrifice and cathartic violence. According to the plan, the film will be released in North America on September 10.
