The Wire actor Williams has died of a suspected drug overdose

Michael K. Williams, star of HBO's The Wire, has been found dead in his Apartment in New York City, us police say.

Williams, 54, plays Omar Little on "The Wire," AFP reported.

New York City Police Officer John Grimpel said he died in his apartment in Brooklyn.

Police did not say how Williams died, but the New York Post quoted other law enforcement sources as saying Williams died of a suspected drug overdose this afternoon at her luxury apartment in Brooklyn.
