How sad is this?

The movie is surprisingly subdued in its pacing, its characterizations, and its go-for-broke sensibilities.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

I enjoyed "Afterlife," and since this video was made, more information has come out about the NDE experience. This was not as compelling as the series that appeared on A&E channel for a time, where people told stories of actually being pronounced dead and what happened to them. Nothing quite as shocking on this video, but still interesting. This is a controversial topic and a fascinating one. We're told that the tunnel etc. are created by endorphins, yet how can that be when the patient is flatlining. How is it people meet relatives they never knew, take on psychic abilities, become musicians -- and most remarkable to me is how people who have had horrendous accidents and should not have lived, have what are basically miracle cures.More will come out on this as time passes. In the meantime, this is a good video with good information that is not boring.
