For one year, Master Swordsman Eiji Shinjo has been haunted by the memory of his battle with the renegade champion, Gaia. A battle that was cut short by the forces of the malevolent syndicate known as "The Organization." Denied victory, Eiji left the tournament followed by his opponent's mocking laughter. Worse still, Eiji walked away no closer to finding his long lost brother, Sho. But now, a mysterious warrior is hunting down the champions of the previous tournament and using their own moves against them, and it looks like that person may be Sho. Who is this powerful, new foe and who be his next target? Eiji and Kayin, his closest friend and greatest rival, struggle to unravel the mystery before they too join the ranks of the defeated. The answer lies at the heart of The Organization and its plans for world domination. At last, the ultimate battle between the greatest fighters in the world will be decided. But if Eiji loses, his friend, Ellis, may Die...

Battle Arena Toshinden Audience Reviews

Ensofter Overrated and overhyped
MoPoshy Absolutely brilliant
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Timothy McKann When this movie came on the Action Channel. I never got to see it. I have been waiting for it to come back, but it never did. It wasn't very long until I bought the movie on DVD. I learned that this movie was the very first DVD that Central Park Media aka(U.S. Manga Corps) first released. It was really cool when I watched the entire movie,it was just like the video game with all the cool characters. My favorite characters in the movie are: Eiji,Sofia,Ellis,Fo,and Duke. The movie also features the voices of: Hideo Seaver,Ted Lewis and Lisa Ortiz famous for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Chris Yates,Greg Wolfe, Carter Cathcart famous for Grappler Baki, Alfred Debutler, Billy Regan, Apollo Smile, Teri Muus, Emma Rayda, and Debbie Rabbai. I think this is the best anime to see. So in closing to this review. Add it to your collection if you don't have it. You will see what I mean.
DCAndy As a devoted fan of the video game, I was a bit disappointed in the animated movie. Many of the characters were hardly in it, though they all appear eventually, and the fights were often too brief. But it was interesting enough to rent if you really like the game.
