Christie's Revenge Audience Reviews

VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
MoPoshy Absolutely brilliant
ThrillMessage There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.
Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
guil fisher Is the word for this vacant film about revenge. A sorry bunch of actors as well. Cynthia Gibb, whom I like, is wasted in a thankless and clueless role as the wife who is unaware of the evil around her. I mean how empty headed can you be? The husband, played by another boring actor, John Shipp, is also clueless. I mean didn't he know his brother's daughter? Come on. Then we have the witch herself, played by Danielle Kind, who goes around with one look on her face. "I'm gonna get you". The kid daughter is wise to her from the start. Played by Annie Bovaird, she's the only sensible one in the film. And of course, no one listens to her. Oh, then we have Anastasia Phillips playing a so called femme fa tale. Wrong. She was as plain and plump as she could be. The furthest from being an attractive woman. That was far fetched casting. Josh, played by Jamieson Boulanger, fared better in a smaller role. You believed him.Writing was awful, acting was hilarious, plot was predictable, directing was so-so and over all a terrible movie even for the likes of LMN.
vchimpanzee In Philadelphia, Ray is a physician, and his wife Miranda is an architect. They have a 13-year-old daughter Haley who writes for her school paper and is developing an attitude.Ray's niece Christie is in college in Philadelphia. Her mother and stepfather wanted her to stay in Baltimore, but she doesn't get along with them. Christie is still bitter over her father's suicide two years earlier.Christie has a nice meal with her family members. Haley thinks she's cool. She changes her tune once she finds out Christie is moving in; Christie makes Ray feel sorry for her by claiming she lived in a noisy but cheap dump. Actually, the truth is she was living in a nice old house with an old woman who sleeps a lot. And her room suggested she was a stalker. To herself, Christie says Ray's perfect life is over. To help in her devious plan, Christie finds the social security number of a deceased person who would have been the same age as Selene, and with the information she can get online, she gives Selene the new identity of Jennifer James. Christie also persuades Ray to give her a job.The movie's title pretty much gives away what happens next, but the specifics are interesting and the ending exciting.I find no real reason to recommend this movie over others like it. At first no one can convince me they are not acting. But when she is scheming, Danielle Kind is quite good. Plus she's gorgeous. Anastasia Phillips is better when she's being sneaky, but not great when she's trying to be threatening. It's still entertaining.
Bill357 I pity poor Doctor Colton. He's in the thrall of three of the worst women in the world.Woman Number One: Christie, his psychotic b***h of a niece who blames her uncle for the suicide of her loser father. Seems Dr. Colton didn't loan the poor sap any more money after he gambled away the first thirty-thousand.Woman Number Two: Christie's friend Selene, an ugly young woman inside and out, hoping to make a buck or two off the poor doctor but ending up with a tire iron protruding from her thick skull.Woman Number Three: His daughter Haley, a really obnoxious brat that uses her eavesdropping capabilities to help save her dad from certain death, a death probably more preferable than having to listen to her mouth the rest of his life!Add this to Canadian producer Pierre David's highly enjoyable series of evil woman thrillers like The Landlady, The Nurse, Maid of Honor, The Perfect Neighbor, and Night Caller.Christie's Revenge doesn't start off as well as I'd like but I warmed up to it after a bit. This movie, like the others, really knows how to push buttons.
Michael O'Keefe Well thought out. Interest sustaining story. Christie(Danielle Kind)is almost twenty and has led a very miserable life. Three years after her parent's divorce, her father committed suicide; but Christine is easy to blame her Uncle Ray(John Wesley Shipp)for his despondence. The vengeful Christie comes up with a diabolical plan to get even with her Uncle and puts a meticulous plan in motion. She moves in with Ray and his wife Miranda(Cynthia Gibb)and their daughter(Annie Boviard). Christie will employee a willing accomplice Selene(Anastasia Phillips)to turn her Uncle Ray's life upside down and inside out. She is hellbent on avenging her father's death.
