Code: Debugging the Gender Gap Audience Reviews

Alicia I love this movie so much
TinsHeadline Touches You
Ava-Grace Willis Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Candida It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
sdm-63280 The video was very informative as well an interesting. I did not know we as woman did not get as much credit we deserved. One thing about this video it has proven that woman is smarter than what they give us credit for. If I had a daughter I would show this video to her because it will show that she can be and do whatever she wants no matter what man may say to her that she cannot be a computer science engineer.
hanster-54958 Overall, this was a successful documentary. I appreciated the voices from various age groups-there were kids as young as 10 and adults as old as 60 (or older) speaking about the same topic. There was a good balance of female to male speakers as. Females were the dominant voice in this documentary, but we heard from the occasional male speaker. The statistics were current, relevant and credible. I enjoyed the how the content in the film and how the film changed directions midway through from focusing on the need for females in the computer science workplace to the challenges of being a female in a male-dominated workplace. The music was subtle and effective. The written callouts displaying the names of all the speakers in the documentary were helpful and kept us oriented as to who was speaking. The facts were interesting, relevant and memorable. The documentary also effectively displayed he history about women in the computer science field.
amfaith This film gives an eye opening and interesting look to the issue of women in the field of computer sciences. This film highlights strong, important and underappreciated women in this field. These women have broken the barriers and done something in a field that is dominated by males. This film opens the dialogue about the shortage in computer sciences majors and that in this small number, the number is even smaller for women. This film shows how we can encourage young people to explore code and computer sciences by providing them with the tools and motivation to do so. I highly recommend this film to women who are in roles where they can influence children as well as anyone who wants to learn to empower women.
derekmyers A wonderfully engaging look of the issues that apply to women in tech industries, software engineers in particular. The documentary takes a great look into the inter-sectional issues that have led to such a low number of women in tech. The documentary examines the historical contributions of women in coding and the decline of their numbers; the "brogrammer" culture that has increasingly led to sexism, exclusion, and harassment; and the grassroots steps being taken to increase computer sciences, not only for women but for all underrepresented groups. This documentary shows a hopeful way forward for improving the tech industry as a whole.
