Corbin Nash Audience Reviews

Boobirt Stylish but barely mediocre overall
HeadlinesExotic Boring
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
sharonvilla I haven't seen a good vampire movie in a very long time and this was great! This was good from beginning to the end. And I loved watching Corey Feldman onscreen again.
dagallop I think this movie was one of the better vampire adaptations of recent years. Yes, I agree it borrowed a lot from Blade but if you actually think about it, that would be like saying that Sci Fi movie borrowed from Asimov! It is a little difficult to digress from a theme that encompasses a subject matter such as Vampires!I believe that this was well acted for the most part, there were times when you feel like they maybe could have done a little better with the lines but by the same token, as in the iRobot movie (sorry for the Asimov return!) as 'Sonny' replied after being told that a robot cannot create a masterpiece: "can you?". Unless you are an accomplished script writer how can you be qualified to pass judgement? The filmography, and again, I am in no way qualified to make statements such as those provided by someone earlier, I believe lacked a little something. Some of the camera shots seemed too 'direct', such as the one across the large dining table near the end, it almost reminded me of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.Mr McDowell in my opinion has always been under rated. It was probably because the haters of Caligula decided that he had crossed the line. However, it is difficult to find any movie that he has appeared or starred in wasn't entertaining and his presence felt. In this movie I believe that he carried the plot with finesse. It is difficult to think of anyone that could have taken that role and made it any more than he did.And then there is Mr Hauer, yet another brilliant actor who has shined on the big screen since the day he proved that he could out act anyone on the roof of a building with Mr Ford and some great music by Vangelis playing.Talking of music, wow! I thought the score was actually one of the strongest assets in this movie, pity the composer (Russ Irwin) didn't lend a hand to the editor (Matt Michael) he may have been able to piece something together that would have equally served the movie well. In fact, the editing is probably the weakest part here, the scene shifting, often times with no lead in, in my mind made me remember the old soaps; it really didn't matter because a commercial break would allow the viewers to reflect and possibly make sense of it! Sorry, can't think of anything that would better sum up my impression. In short, thumbs up to the movie, down to the haters and seriously, those of you that barrate this because of movies like Blade, keep in mind that this is a fraction of the budget and frankly the acting was as good given the fact that Mr Snipes is just a cool looking dude in the first place!
etatmultiple Awful does not start to tell you the let down. Where in the universe do these reviewers giving 9 and 10 come from? One even wrote "best movie of the year". You got to be kidding me! I admit, the ploy is always the same: early on upon movie release, all these people show up with lots and lots of standard / non sensical praises extolling the worse movies. Technically, this trick is as old as online reviews: it fortunately should not fool anybody. Well, except me this time... I saw the IMDB average 6.something rating, thought why not? and went for it. Well, that was a mistake: this movie was like a bad dream with nothing to redeem it. A bad movie with all the ingredients: the misfits vampires, the violent weirdos, a meh! vague story, a bout of MMA, lots of blood, a tiny touch of gothic atmosphere and above all, Ladies and Gentlemen, real baaaad acting. If you have 1:35 hour to waste, here is the occasion.
dazygraves-com Rebecca: "This party is so bad it's almost good." Enid: "It's so bad it's gone past good and back to bad again."This was never even remotely close to good and if there's ever a chance of it being a Cult classic, it will be the opinion of a very small group of misguided individuals, with a loose grasp of what it actually takes to be honoured with that title. The plot was painfully slow, with very little background or direction. The main character was as dull as dishwater and Corey Feldman's performance was so desperate, it was extremely embarrassing to witness. Half-baked Buffalo Bill, combined with a $2 drag queen and just a pinch of wannabe delusional is not exactly award-winning, but I respect the fact that nobody wants to win awards, here. That's admirable at least. What happened to that guy? The 80's are long gone, as are his chances of ever being a decent actor again. McDowel and Hauer must have been compensated heavily for this and it's bewildering as to how they were lured into this. I watched Butcher's Block with Hauer recently and loved it. You can't win them all, I guess. If you like poorly written, cringeworthy, badly acted moves, with no direction, that bares a very poor resemblance to films you may have seen in the past, then go for it. I have forgiven some awful movies in my time and defended some serious turkeys, but this, my friend is not worth the bother. Do your taxes, cut your toenails, go and see that relative you hate - anything but this to pass the time. I challenge you to get to the 40 minute mark without falling asleep or turning to the person you're watching it with and not contort your face. If you do, take a shot each time one of you does and you'll be sorted (at least numb) until the end. Let's get something positive out of this. and to those who gave this trash 10 stars, I hope you did something nice with the cash. Your acting ability far ought-weighs anything seen here.
