Lucybespro It is a performances centric movie
encyes "Cremains" is a poor man's poor man's B-movie. In fact, it is a C, D or E-movie with poor storytelling, even poorer acting and filmed on your Uncle Charlie's borrowed video camera. The second vignette - "The Ride" for a better name - is the only redeeming piece in the whole film, with an interesting story twist and a single believable psychotic. The final catch ending of this celluloid schlock is disappointing and not even 4 minutes of nudity can redeem this movie that looks more like a high-school film project than anything that was financed. Don't waste your money buying this piece of lackluster horror. Rent it for fun, but don't purchase it for your collection as its "cremains" will remain on your shelf - covered in dust - for a very long time.
lastliberal Well, for Scream Queen Debbie Rochon fans this is a major disappointment, as we only heard her voice doing some kind of interrogation of a funeral home director who cremated two bodies at once. What was that all about? Anyway, we then get four stories of varying degrees of horror that don't seem to be connected at all. The first isn't, in fact, horrible at all.The second, about a serial killer, also fails to rise to the level of horror. It was mostly creepy, but the serial killer just turned me off. I looked so homemade that it could have been a high school film project.Scream Queen Kimberly Lynn Cole believes her best friend is a vampire and after her. Well, if Dawn DuVurger was my best friend, she could bite my neck any time. No, there is no lesbian action, this is straight vampire lust.If you didn't get enough of DuVurger, just check out the extras and you get to see her doing several takes of her scenes - all nude, of course. The final installment is the result of mixing those ashes, and it is a slasher bit that really takes a long time. Scream Queen Lilith Stabs makes an appearance here as a witch who is unaware that those ashes are not pure. Too bad, she is the first to go. And then, on to the rest in a creepy way again. Minimal blood, but a good head crush. It was save by a great bathtub scene with Rebecca Allen. An uneven mix of tales with great nudity that makes it watchable, but not worth recommending. A criminal waste of Debbie Rochon and Lilith Stabs.
bfan83 Cremains is honestly one of the best independent horror films that I ever had the pleasure of viewing! All the stories were dark and terrifying. My two fads among them are the story with Jeff Dylan Graham, who played a suicidal teenager, who accepts a ride from someone who isn't exactly who he appears to be. Jeff did a wonderful bringing his character alive, and making you sympathize with him. The other that I dug a lot was the story with Lilith Stabs, as a witch who brings a grieving mothers child back to life, and ending up regretting she had not. That story was the most terrifying and suspenseful out of all of them. It had an overwhelming feeling of dread and foreboding. Steve Sessions did a wonderful job paying homage to TALES FROM THE CRYPT. Personally, I think its better then TALES FROM THE CRYPT. So, give this movie a look, it's definitely worth it!
lthseldy1 I don't understand why they have this goof in a room being interrogated by a guy thats accused of cremating the wrong ashes and sending them to the families in whom these ashes are supposed to belong to sitting there telling stories that have nothing to do with cremating. Anyway, there are four stories that are told and the first one and the second being my favorites. I won't get into detail, it would take forever but by the end of the movie I just don't see why this guy is guilty after telling a few ghost stories, one reminds me of Jeffry Dahmer. It's an ok film but it's typical todays films.
