Critters 3 Audience Reviews

Unlimitedia Sick Product of a Sick System
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Michael_Elliott Critters 3 (1991)** (out of 4) The third film in the series is certainly a major step up from the previous one plus you've got Leonardo DiCaprio in his first screen role. The film's story is pretty simple as an apartment building comes under attack by the hairy aliens and it's up to Annie (Aimee Brooks) and Josh (DiCaprio) to try and save the day. CRITTERS 3 went direct-to-video back in the day and it's often considered a very bad movie but I've always thought it was somewhat fun in a "B" movie way. It certainly shouldn't be taken serious but then again no one making it took the subject matter very serious either. I thought for the most part we're given a pretty fun "B" movie that offers up some likable characters, good performances and of course we've got the actual critters back in action. The critters here have basically the same design with the only difference being that these here are a bit fatter and there's also a lot more hair on them. The screenplay actually gives them quite a bit more screen time, which certainly wasn't a bad thing and there's also a lot of humor added in. One sequence has one of the critters eating some soap and then chowing down on some beans so you can use your imagination as to what happens next. The screenplay certainly doesn't offer anything new or original but at least we're given some likable characters to root for. The main focus is on the Annie character who is having issues with her father. I thought Brooks was pretty good in her role and managed to at least help keep the film entertaining. We also get some good performances from John Calvin and Don Opper who returns as Charlie. Plus, it's always fun seeing a now-major star in one of their first roles. I watched this movie back when it was first released and you could just tell that there was something special about DiCaprio even in a film like this. CRITTERS 3 certainly isn't going to be for everyone but if you enjoy the series or just cheap movies then it offers up enough entertainment.
starglider16 My thoughts about Critters 3: I think that the director Kristine chose the wrong actress, Aimee Brooks in this film, which makes the film look very boring. She the director should have taken another actress. Kristine is a bad director too. Besides it's a disappointment that the character Ug didn't appear in the film at all. There is only a bounty hunter Charlie in this film compared to these previously series. I wish that Critters 3 never had been made. I can't believe that the film was filled with a bunch of bad actors/actresses. The bad language in this film, they are just talking crap all the time.In my opinion this film is a full waste of time, even in the fourth series. The story of this film is an embarrassment. In some words; the Crites didn't kill a lot, they killed just two persons. Just a little. When the Crites attacked the apartment building of LA, it is not exciting at all. The Crites didn't seem to be lucky, they just failed and failed. There is no much violent or gory. I wouldn't want to see these ridiculous scenes again. In my opinion; Critters 3 is the crappiest movie that has ever been made. The first Critters series is still my best, the sequel is OK, I disliked these parts of 3-4. I give Critters 3 a rating of one out of ten.
Jan Strydom The third installment of the CRITTERS series is probably best known for being Leonardo DiCaprio's first film in which he made his acting debut and here he was still just a kid, I'll bet when he made this film he never imagined he'd be appearing in big name titles like TITANIC, INCEPTION, THE DEPARTED and SHUTTER ISLAND, let alone work with big names in the movie industry.Anyway, CRITTERS 3 is pretty much a familiar formula, those little man eating fur balls from outer space are back and wreaking all sorts of havoc and looking for something to eat, it also has a TOWERING INFERNO type spin to the story but its actually better than the second one and on par with the first one, mainly because there's better humor and the many new characters are more likable and like both previous films its also fun and entertaining.In comparison its the better sequel but not better than the first one but just as good.
Toronto85 Critters 3 continues the story of the hairy Critters from outer space that try to kill any humans in sight. This time Leonardo DiCaprio joins tenants in an LA apartment complex as they fight to escape death. The film starts off with a family road trip. They stop off at Grover's Bend (same place from the first two movies) and some Critters and their eggs attach onto the car. They eventually wind up in downtown Los Angeles where they live in this seedy apartment building. Of course the eggs hatch and are now on the loose. They kill off a maintenance worker in the basement before attacking a large woman's Bunny slippers. Once they hear her screams for help, the chase is on between the tenants and the little monsters. Leo DiCaprio plays a kid with a nasty stepfather who is actually the landlord of the apartment.There are plenty of laughs throughout the whole thing. The large woman getting stung in her behind with the critters spikes. There is a funny scene reminiscent to Critters 2 in the diner when the monsters start eating the food and make a mess of the place. In Critters 3, we discover that the critters can indeed pass gas. This third Critters is very different from the other two, but yet just as good. I thought the location of the apartment building was smart and I like the chase scenes throughout the place.Definitely a good addition to the comical horror series. Check this one out for sure.7/10
