Curious George Audience Reviews

UnowPriceless hyped garbage
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Trangor First, the artwork is eye candy. Designed to appeal to kids and adults, a lot of care and inspiration and, maybe, a bit of genius went into the visual design of this film.Second, the music complemented the film almost perfectly. The feel of the songs fit the film. The melodies were appealing and well produced. Taken with the film they were very memorable. The available music for purchase, "Curious George: Sing-A-Longs And Lullabies For The Film", tho not exactly the same as in the film, is good. It is, as others have commented, a very entertaining kid's film which doesn't include inappropriate content. This is to be appreciated in an era when the entertainment industry appears often to be working against parents.
Mightyzebra Inspiring and (sort of) eye-catching words that describe this film:Colourful, friendly, animal-orientated, funny, exciting, well-plotted, cute, yellow, enjoyable, gorgeous, lovely, well-worth-watching!Not only all that, but this film also has songs sung by the one and only Jack Johnson! :-)This film starts with a wee monkey/ape called George in Africa, who is very curious about everything in the jungle around him, even some animals who would rather not have his company! All in all he is rather lonely and not as happy as he could be...Meanwhile, in New York, a man called Ted works in a museum with a business going underway. Ted decides to do something which will bring popularity to the museum, but it's going to be difficult...Not all adults may like it, but otherwise, enjoy "Curious George"! :-)
Brandt Sponseller I had been putting off watching Curious George for a while, but I'm not quite sure why. I love animation, I still love kids' entertainment in general, and I'm a huge Will Ferrell fan, but I think I had some fuzzy, distant memory that I didn't really care for the Curious George books (and maybe I had seen a couple of the early films when I was in high school) and I was vaguely aware of a negative buzz about this film. Well, putting it off was a mistake, because this is now easily one of my favorite films from 2006--everything about it is perfect, and I have to doubt my memory about previous Curious George works (I've already ordered one of the old books and films to check out). The first thing you notice is how gorgeous and unusual the animation is. It's highly stylized to create a complete fantasy world, and seamlessly combines high-tech and low-tech, cartoonish caricature and realistic computer-aided design. The plot, which is about Ted (Ferrell) venturing from a fantasy New York City to Africa to try to find a huge statue that would save the natural history museum he works for, may seem to be the weakest link, but that would come from misunderstanding the focus, which is instead on a number of abstract ideas and themes. The primary idea is relatively unusual but very welcome--a message about the extreme importance of curiosity, creativity and play. This is merged with a very positive Zen-like "go with the flow"/"live mindfully in the moment" theme, which is partially achieved via a stream-of-consciousness flow of various subplots that frequently, very enjoyably dip into silliness and absurdities. The main plot turns out to fit perfectly with this tone, as do the choices and performances of the voice actors, including Ferrell, Frank Welker, Eugene Levy, Dick Van Dyke, Drew Barrymore and David Cross. The Jack Johnson songs also set an unexpected but perfect mood for the film.
john_skiny_boy Don't know where to start because this movie is not a blockbuster but is enjoyable to watch , not boring , there is always something new to story and it has a very nice story , very good voice acting , good music and I can go on like that for at least 2 hours , but if you want a good 2D animation made by artists ( because my opinion about them is a very good one , they are by me true artists ) .You all should go to see this one if you want to have some quality time with your children , alone and with friends and/or family . My vote 9/10 .P . S . : if my English is bad and if I've made some mistakes in my writing please apologize me . I learned it from TV .
