Demolition High Audience Reviews

Alicia I love this movie so much
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
JamieWJackson "Demolition High" is ridiculous on many levels. However, it made me laugh a bunch. It seemed less like a fully thought-out movie and more like an exercise in putting actors into scenes. "Hey, we could have Corey shoot something out of a fire extinguisher!" "Yeah, and Melissa could walk menacingly up these stairs!" "Wait, we could use this circular saw for something..."What surprised me was that somehow the movie managed to include the absurd as well as occasional moments when the actors and the writing made me care a little bit about the characters. I've always like Corey Haim, for whatever reason, and even though this whole film was a transparent vehicle for him to play a role (and not a very convincing role), I still rooted for "Lenny Slater". I also liked a few moments with some of the supporting cast, certainly more than the shaky script and acting would suggest.Ultimately I give this a 5. It's laughable in many ways, but that was part of the fun. When Corey grabs a machine gun and runs *past* the injured Melissa, out of the room, down the hall, and *then* turns and fires randomly back at the room they squared off in, you can't take this seriously and you can't believe any of them did either. So just relax and enjoy the comedy, be it intentional or not.P.S. I had to "fix" this review because my original summary of "LOL" was interpreted as shouting -- even when I added periods. :-)
stormlightningstrikes For the length of this movie I have decided to rate it a 10/10, but as for actually seeing it yet, I have to hold off on rating it for quality. I had decided to record this movie to video 'cause it fit perfectly into the remainder of the space I had left on my VHS tape which had space for, yes,one more movie at 1.5 hours length. After searching hi and lo for an alternative candidate to fulfill this requirement and knowing that I needed a movie only, I had to finally acknowledge that alas, there would be no other to fill that last little slot of space on my VHS tape. Seeing that also time was running out on the free preview weekend which Showtime was sponsoring I thought, what the heck, nothing ventured, nothing gained, or something like that, I just wanted to fill up my tape! So, I did catch the cheesy opening where the hot, sexy chick in the skintight leather catsuit offs the disheveled, dumpy, old, geezer, rent-a-cop,where she does make some utterly forgettable catch phrase, ala terminator, but I forget what she says. The hot chick does this also, after he tries to put a pathetic move on her.Forwarding thru I did catch cory haim (?) looking really weird with a strange haircut and some kind of metal looking things sticking out of his face. I was able to tell that yes, there would be some humor value to be squeezed out of this flick, possibly in the production value area(s)and for that I think I will definitely check it out and report back to this "review" what my findings will be. Til that time, so long!
adrianAKArosemarys_baby This is another one of these unoriginal plot action movies which too many exist of.It's about some Bronx Thug and his police daddy moving to some silent and peaceful town. Well, this is an action movie, so the town isn't peaceful at all. The Bronx Thug, who kind of resembles Johnny Depp but unfortunately not his acting quality, is trapped in his new school because some terrorists captured it.These terrorists plant bombs everywhere in the school with C4 written on them so that even the dumbest of a human being knows what the deal is. If the bad guys wish of having money or having an independent religious nation or whatever isn't fulfilled, they will launch a 'nuclear' rocket that is heading into a 'nuclear' power plant. So what has more impact? Regular rocket into nuclear power plant or nuclear rocket into regular power plant? Probably the same, but having everything nuclear is just so silly that I couldn't stop laughing.Eventually the rocket gets launched and I'll tell you this: If I would throw a pen in the air and film it, it most likely would look better. This movie has more crap special effects and cheesy dialogue but I give this movie a 2/10 because it has some unintentional comedy value.
spongebob218 The only thing worth watching this movie for is to see what a really bad movie is. The principal has a gun in his desk, a cop leaves his wounded partner in the middle of the street, and Corey Haim has a bowl cut. The only thing that would make this movie worse is if Corey Feldman was there also, but alas, I was left disappointed. I think they filmed this movie in the same school they used for Big Bully. I don't know whats worse, knowing that, or admitting to watching Big Bully. I did however learn that you can use a fire extinguisher to launch calligraphy pens like blow darts. I need to try that sometime. I give this movie a .053 out of 10, for the clever use of a fire extinguisher.
