Die Ärzte: Die Band, die sie Pferd nannten Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
ThiefHott Too much of everything
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Die Ärzte - Die Band, die sie Pferd nannten" (which means roughly "The Doctors - The band they call horse" is a concert DVD by the German punk rock band Die Ärzte from 2004, so this one is already easily over a decade old. According to IMDb and other websites, this runs for 6 hours, which is not correct. There's roughly 3 hours of concert footage and some extra songs and stuff that does not even add half an hour. But is is still pretty good. I like Farin, I don't like Bela really (the Bush insult wasn't helping either, why he had no courage to say the same about Merkel, please Ärzte are you really that mainstream?) and Rod is always a bit insignificant to me. The relatively high rating here is because it includes some pretty good songs, they may be old but I remember them well and Urlaub has a nice pleasant appearance and I still believe he is the closest Germany might have to Morrissey. Anyway, this was a pretty decent watch and listen as a whole and I guess I recommend it. The little play on genders wasn't bad either. If you choose "male", then you will see a guy buying pizza and beer etc. from a first person perspective. If you choose "female", you will see a girl literally sniffing around, no more details on that. Watch it and you will understand what I mean. I personally can only say this 2-part concert DVD (recorded in Oberhausen) brought back some nice memories. Sure not every song can be a winner, but I believe that's pretty much impossible at this duration. It's certainly very much worth checking out and maybe will even turn you into a fan. Sure this band is among the top of my list of bands I am yet to see if I ever return to concert going. That's all I think. The music is worth it, the conversations in-between are too. Give it a go.
