The show features some great light and sound effects apart from the great music that Eagles is renowned for. The 'five-part' harmony song, "Hole in the World" elicits a great crowd participation with the audience providing a 'clap rhythm' as the band sings. The song "Life's Been Good" features some antics by Joe Walsh and Frey with them staging a mock rivalry on stage and the latter having a hearty laugh at the former. The song also features a 'helmet cam' session where the crowd gets to see what the camera on Walsh's helmet points at. Also, the songs "The Boys of Summer" and "Hotel California" feature the first officially documented use by the Eagles of a drum machine in a live performance; in particular, during "Hotel California", a pre-programmed track is used to simulate the muted guitar strums which provide a steady beat on the original studio recording of the song, and which are absent from all of the previous live performances of it.

Eagles: Farewell I Tour - Live from Melbourne Audience Reviews

Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Kinley This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
aann-2 I am an Eagles fan, but not an Eagles fanatic. I grew up listening to them and enjoy all aspects of their music: vocals, the way they harmonize, lyrics, and in the Ealges Farewell I Tour DVD, their showmanship. They performed a few new songs but most of it is a repeat from their "Hell Freezes Over" DVD, minus their most excellent lead guitarist Don Felder. That was my main disappointment with this DVD. The video on standard DVD and the sound was great. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase and I would recommend it to a friend. However, if I had to pick only one, the Hell Freezes Over DVD would be my preference.
daspooky1 Guys this DVD is the concert as I saw it in Melbourne. Seen many DVD's and Concerts. Nothing even comes close to this concert. I actually saw KISS in concert at VFL Park in Melbournes outer suburbs in 1980. That KISS Concert was Awesome But the EAGLES FAREWELL 1 was better, and this DVD is that Concert. Buy it you wont regret it. Mate Cant Wait For The Farewell 2 Tour:-) I did not know I was an Eagles Fan. Through work a guy rang me and asked if I wanted Tickets to the Eagles concert that night. "Yeah I'LL have 4" He Says "Mate this is the Eagles. How Many" Stupid Me " Four will do Mate" He says "OKAY THEN!!!!!! pick em up at the box office" We get there and we are 20 Rows, in front, from the stage and here are these 4 dudes singing songs I knew by heart. almost 3hrs and not a bad note or key. Freekin AWESOME
Jim Burt Outstanding production. As others have noted, they've never sounded better. Good to see that Walsh has himself straightened away.Walmart is moving this for Christmas at under $10, with three new songs on a CD over-wrapped on the original packaging. Doubt you'll ever get it cheaper.30 tracks on two DVDs. Both 2.0 and 5.1 sound included. 16x9 video.Unlike a lot of live concerts, the audience adds to, rather than detracting from, the experience. Also unlike a lot of live material, this is very well mixed.Really spectacular. A great stocking stuffer for any rock or country fan.
Farinadogs This is a superb Concert DVD. The Eagles sound better today then they ever have. Like the old saying " a Fine Wine ages better with time," the Eagles are a more mature, finely crafted band then ever before.Truly one of the great rock and roll bands of all-time, it is a pleasure to see and hear them perform at a top-rate level. I also appreciate that they have included virtually all of their hits with some new twists including a terrific horn section, but at the same time feature individual hits from their solo careers. This is a must buy for any rock & roll, easy listening or even country music fan.
