Earth vs. the Spider Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Mandeep Tyson The acting in this movie is really good.
kennethhenderson513 goofs-the 'factual error' on the original IMDb site page is wrong. Further along in the movie, as the lead character gets further in his transformation. Senses become heightened to the point that the ticking of the clock is overwhelming during insomnia. He picks up the clock which looks to be attached to a cord or plugged in. This is actually a better of the quote B,C or D movies...If some so called critics would bother to watch the full length of some of these screen gems. Well, you might just want to avoid listening to them all together. It is actually a fun little movie. And as with all in this genre, a little bit of lower expectations always helps the experience...Enjoy
Michael_Elliott Earth vs. The Spider (2001) 1/2 (out of 4) Remake of the 1958 cult classic doesn't have too much in common with the original film outside of the title. A wimpy, comic book reading guy gets injected with some sort of chemical, which soon has him turning into a mean spider. Dan Aykroyd plays the Detective trying to solve all the murders. This is a really horrible film even when judged on its own because there isn't an inch of talent to be seen anywhere in the film. The story is downright stupid and it's clear this is just some masturbation fantasy from a comic book lover who has never had a girlfriend. The performances are all very weak and that includes Aykroyd who falls flat on his face during all of his scenes. The special effects are just as bad as is everything else here. Several of those Arkoff films from the 50's were remade in the 90s and 00s but I hope none of the rest are as bad as this turkey.
Rautus Earth Vs The Spider is a remake of the 1958 film except instead of a huge Spider attacking people we get a cross between Spider-Man and The Fly, a Secuirty Guard named Quentin Kemmer (Devon Gummersall) is working for a lab and is obsessed with comic books especially the Aracnid Avenger. When a group of armed men come into the lab and steal some things he's fired from his job. He then injects himself with a Spider serum and soon he starts to get spider like powers (Like Spider-Man) except he shoots webs from his chest not wrists.Things start to happen though as he slowly starts changing into a Spider Monster, Quentin's neighbour Stephanie Lewis (Amelia Heinle) is curious why he's hiding himself in his apartment all day while Det. Insp. Jack Grillo (Dan Aykroyd) starts to go on a search for the Spider. Earth Vs The Spider is a good Television movie with some great Spider effects.
Bob Successful enough attempt to revive a genre of a primitive trash of 50-70 years. Remember " Night of the Creeps " and " Vault of Horror, The "? And so, there those classical receptions which are used in this film were used all. It is classics. More truly, a remake of classics, a cheap television horror film. What claims to the teleproject can be?! I, certainly, too was not in delight but if it is good to know primary sources this film normally will pass, without any conclusions - a typical hand-made article, like modern alteration of old film 58 years, little bit similar on " Fly, The ". Film does not frighten, and a pressure any does not create - the skipping chamber and a blurring focus - from such receptions now will be frightened only the child, and about a make-up and to speak there is nothing - all has through become permeated with the smell of cheapness and the scanty budget. On the other hand, film fascinating enough and places even ridiculous. Actors not at height, but Dan Aykroyd has very much liked - to it to not play for the first time any more in any nonsense, but he is such remarkable actor, what even in such naked trash is able to play superb! Film is not pleasant to everyone who badly knows or does not love primary sources - old horror films of times " Friday 13 ", but admirers of a genre will remain are happy!
