SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Mjeteconer Just perfect...
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
virindra When I look at Shah Rukh Khan as he is now, a very old man, the Rahul from DDLJ has left the body, laughing on TV shows begin the down to earth guy with sounds on the background that tells the viewer you have to laugh, I thought his genuine acting career is over. Not for his fans. Forhis fans it will be over when Khan doesn't breath anymore. But for film lovers who have seen all his movies and compare them to the movies he is making now, there was a little hope like a last breath of an old man.Shah Rukh Khan delivers with this movie. He still shows that he is a great actor. He shows it twice by taking a double role. On one hand he plays himself and at the other hand he plays his own fan. During the movie you know he is both of the men, but the way he acts gave me the feeling I was watching two different men. That is quite an achievement. The first confrontation between the men was very exciting. The second chase was unnecessary.I grew up watching srk's movies. His overacting habit as a young man made him the king of Bollywood. Now I am older myself and only a fan of my little daughter, I can really enjoy an action thriller like this. Yes Shah Rukh made his dream, but lives in a big house surrounded by walls. Sounds like a prison to me, but every achievement has it's costs. Great actor, great movie.
tom Fan is an exceptional movie. Shahrukh Khan has delivered his career best performance in this movie. Maneesh Sharma has done a lifetime direction. the editing is excellent. dialogues, locations, actions are splendid. last of all, shahrukh khan should get Oscar for this movie. the movie is not everybody's cup of tea. it is made for class audiences.
bettyjbettyj Once upon a time, i was also a fan of Srk. I saw Srk the actor in non mainstream movies like Chak de India, Billu barber and then mainstream movies like Don, om shanti om and RNBJ was awesome. But movies like Chennai express , Ra one , Don 2 i only saw SRK the bollywood superstar and not Srk the actor But rejoice Srk the actor is back in this movie. Pros Not even one song in this movie. It is unbelievable that director and Srk had such audacity for such blasphemy. Srk portrayal of Gaurav. Even though he is insane we feel so much for him.His wailing in jail was heart wrenching to see.The way Srk portrays a fan whose love turns into hatred is phenomenal.Cons The action scene,it felt something straight out of jason bourne movie.
Radu_A There's a ton of reviews on this one, as a non-Indian who gets to watch a decent amount of Bollywood I agree with the mainstream view here that "Fan" is a decent thriller with a return of SRK to old form after a few lackluster movies.Quite a few reviews here claim that this is a remake of 1996's "The Fan" starring Robert De Niro as the obsessed fan of a baseball star played by Wesley Snipes. This is simply not true. There is no hint of identity theft in that film (but family theft, yes). This is the crucial element here so the comparison is completely off the mark.It is, however, justified to say that this kind of story has been done many, many times, as in the rather gory "Fan" of 1981 starring Lauren Bacall and Michael Biehn or the similar German "Trance" (1982). I found myself waiting in vain for any surprises, even though SRK's performance makes it worth to watch. It is also true, as some reviewers have pointed out, that the settings make some plot elements unrealistic. For instance, you cannot wear a hood in London's attractions, let alone a gun. The entire city is under CCTV surveillance so jogging with a hood will alarm police. To use Blenheim Palace, a well-known historical landmark and birthplace of Winston Churchill, as a private residence of an Indian mogul located in Dubrovnik, makes this movie a bit ridiculous to Europeans and may have harmed its marketability. It's fine to set a chase scene in Dubrovnik, a very beautiful city, but it stretches just about any credibility when you have SRK start to give chase outside of a huge English palace and then cut straight to the rooftops of a medieval Mediterranean port. That's kinda like have him step out of the Taj Mahal and run down the streets of Shimla. So it's not a disappointing film, just the script is rather lazy and one would have expected a surprise turn of events, like Aryan realizing that his crazed fan is actually his schizoid other self. SRK could have pulled that off. There's a lot of build-up petering out to nowhere.
