Femme Audience Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
SunnyHello Nice effects though.
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Michelle Ridley The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
wadewainio Women aren't going to save the world, despite what this documentary suggests. In fact, no one group of people likely will save it, if anything like "salvation" is even possible. This documentary makes some decent points, such as its critiques of old systems of thought which have held women as essentially property. However, it's not intellectually satisfying (or honest) to just call such a thing "Patriarchy." In fact, some very specific historical events have much to do with oppression of women, such as religion: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc. This movie makes practically no criticism of religion, and in fact seems to try to ignore te issue entirely. It instead makes all men out to be oppressors unless women guide them (spoiler alert!). The movie also naively argues that female politicians are good, more caring, etc. Nonsense! Have any of these ladies ever hear of Margaret Thatcher? Also, apparently they've never heard of lousy, terrible, abusive mothers, or women who support war (there's a fair amount of those, actually). In fact, there are even female serial killers (truly, there are more female murderers than you'd ever guess from watching something like this). More simply, this is not really a feminist movie. Feminism is about looking past gender roles and stereotypes. This movie exaggerates existing ones, and attempts to create some new ones while it's at it.
Martin Robbins This film gives me hope for the future, mainly that there might be a way us to fix the problems of the past, and create a more equitable future.Through numerous interviews with renowned women Femme gives insight into how the world is changing for the better. By women asserting themselves more the balance of the world is being tilted towards the positive again. This means that war, economic desparity, and inequality will start to erode. The film does not let men of the hook (I'll admit at times I felt ashamed for my gender's past), but ultimately the message is hopeful. Both genders have an integral role to play in the planet's healing, that is the films inspiring message!
Suzy Jessica I thought that film was very inspiring. It gives you hope for the future. After seeing this film I felt empowered. It made me want to do more for my world, my children. I think if everyone watches this film the world would be a better place. In the film you hear from many different women, actors, like Sharon Stone, Maria Bello, feminist activist Gloria Steinmen and others. One of the main messages I got from this film is that women are powerful and nurturing. We have the power to live our lives in a way that promotes peace and prosperity. If you are a woman and want to feel good about yourself, you should watch this film. You will feel empowered to create good in your life and the lives of others.
Bess941 An insipid 90-minute documentary about how women have the inner strength to make the world a better place. I absolutely agree with the premise, but so many of the women interviewed come off as silly that the film's point is almost entirely negated. The filmmakers do use clips from some intelligent and influential women. But all too many of the interviewees are over-made-up Hollywood actresses, yoga teachers and so-called life coaches with absolutely nothing intelligent to say. It doesn't help that the documentary is sprinkled with strange stock clips from the '50s or that motivational author Marianne Williamson is the film's principal voice. I'm a committed feminist, but I found this imbecilic movie painful to watch.
