An aging Hollywood star, Joe Scott, lives a life of narcissistic hedonism, observed by his laconic personal assistant, Ophelia. The death of his childhood best friend, Boots, takes our protagonist, and the movie, into an extended flashback to a sea-side town in 1970s Britain.

Flashbacks of a Fool Audience Reviews

Clevercell Very disappointing...
UnowPriceless hyped garbage
Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
pulpfictionallife I watched like like 8 years back and then now watch it again...first time i really liked the movie and music so nice...after 8 years later i find it more beautiful because i have seen life in many ways with in 8 years...the best part when Ruth said it is so strange that she cant cry even though this is her saddest time of life but in the end she cried so much when she read the later ''shake your head girl with your ponytail...take me right back '' goose bum....amazing...love it
M MALIK wow i am kicking myself after buying this film.starting Daniel Craig flashbacks of a fool 2008 is about a Hollywood star who wastes life buy having sex & drugs & doing crazy things like shouting at people & getting berserk .the movie starts with Daniel Craig with some funny moments but goes into a flashback as he thinks about his past life in 70s .how he had sex with a lady younger then her & smooching girls .listening to weird music & etc. after attending his old friends funeral he goes back to his crazy life.this movie has nothing to see in it.Daniel Craig is worst at acting in this like he does in his James bond films. he was feeling bad & did it only for the money.the film tried to be an artistic but failed.my rating is 1/10. don't watch this unless you have nothing.
jegpad I grew up on Bowie and Roxy Music so this film gets me fixated from the outset. It struck a deep chord of adolescent discovery and pulsating sexual growth. Evocative sums it up for me.It recalled to me the days of blue eyeshadow and glitter nail varnish; of rebellion at the mundanity of daily life and the hope of an escape through music and fashion. The attention to detail is exciting - vinyl LP covers, the old stereo record players, decadent decor with white shag pile rugs. The clothing, makeup, props and acting all add up to create a consummate reproduction of an era I loved and lived. If you loved the music of this era and are still an old rebel at heart, this film will grab you by the sound of Andy McKay's sax and take you on a beautifully photographed trip of nostalgia. The boys and men are lookers too.
spartacrust I must admit I really did'not expect this to turn out to be such a little gem. I was locked into it from the first 10 minutes or so. But it's a great pity the screenwriter did'not fill in a few more bits of the main characters life. I could have sat there for another 40 minutes at least. Daniel Craig has come a long way since playing the Geordie bouncer and hit-man in 'Our friends in the North' a part which he played so convincingly at the time, I did'not think he'd ever be able to move on. Typecasting is so rife in TV. Realistically Sad in parts, and not the screeching OTT theatricals that you usually get from the Media.
