AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
mjlower-28991 Let me begin by stating that every Marvel fan should get on their knees and thank the universe that there is even a Ghost Rider movie for them to watch. That being said... I'm so tired of critics throwing movies "under the bus" when they don't get a FREE screening. It's childish and abhorrent to us adults who work for a living. This movie was great in my opinion. I'm forever thankful that we live in such times as to have believable effects in movies. All these spoiled brats who grew up on Harry Potter have no idea what is was like growing up in the 70's and 80's when all there was was "blue screen" effects. Have you seen TRON? That's what was available for me growing up....and I loved every minute of it. Now.... these days CG effects are incredible and that seems to be every reviewers problem with this film. How about not focusing on CG and watching the movie? This movie is great... it has it all. So don't be a jerk...give this movie a chance first... trust your own self and make a decision of your own... Thanks...
darkguardian-99861 I had seen this movie when it was out. I regretted my ticket and even now I have a lot of issues with this movie. My first and biggest issue is the protagonist: Nicholas Cage?!?!?! Don't judge me, I don't hate the actor and find him fun, but he doesn't fit here. Ghost Rider is a sympathetic character that is forced to a life of loneliness and Nicholas Cage isn't the best for that kind of role. Other than that, the movie is slow, visually uninteresting and worst of all has little to no action. The Ghost Rider has a weird look and whenever he appears he mostly just sits around and stares. I don't know what happened, but you have a flaming skeleton that is the Devil's soul collector and you make a boring movie with no action? What happened? To whoever reads this, please skip this one and if you want to see a more enjoyable Ghost Rider see Agents of SHIELD.
boblipton I had some time to kill this morning and there was nothing on the DVR, so I decided to see this movie, a sequel to the one that demonstrated that Nicholas Cage's performance can be improved by replacing his head with a flaming skull. Who says that CGI is worthless? In this one, Nick plays the scenes with his own face like an alky who has just woken with the shakes, because he has regrets over being a monster. Violante Placido plays the unmentionable love interest. She was raped by the Devil and gave birth to his son because you know what schmucks male-dominated governments are. They won't let you get an abortion even when you've been raped by the Devil, even though that happens all the time; plus Mother Love and an enormous rack. Idris Elba plays a monk with a Russian accent. Did he get rejected for the role of Rasputin by some racist producer and he's going to show them?Anyway, the story, such as it is, involves a lot of CGI fighting and fire and Miss Placido crawling on the ground so that her breasts hang down and look even larger. Apparently this was too difficult for one director, so they used two, but to make up for that, they only get one name each.I forgive Mr. Elba, because he is a British actor, and they don't turn down work. I suspect he shot his role when it turned out he had a week before playing Puss in Boots in a Christmas panto. Besides, he has since appeared in another LUTHER.
MarkfromKY I'm sorry, I did enjoy the movie, but not nearly as much as I should have.I have only this to say about that. First of all, What happened to the bike? When he becomes the rider, the bike is supposed to completely transform into this kickass hellish chopper, not just catch fire. What did we have a short special effects budget?Secondly, While the storyline was pretty good, there were a few things I didn't like about it. Firstly The back story for the spirit of vengeance was cockeyed. I won't name names or anything because I don't want to be accused of spoiling it for anyone. But would it have been that difficult to use the story from the comics? It would have made almost NO difference to the plot line.ALSO. (Okay I thought this might be a bit of a spoiler so I checked the box.) In the first movie I'm pretty sure that they established the rider only surfaced in darkness... "Just Sayin"There were other hitches but those were my main problems with it.The people that make these movies KNOW that the first audience to see them will be people like myself that were fans of the comics. Why do they have to deviate from them in so many stupid little ways that could just as easily been done right and basically changed nothing about the story, yet immensely improve the film?I'm done ranting now...
