Going Overboard Audience Reviews

BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment

Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Animenter There are women in the film, but none has anything you could call a personality.
JonathanDWestbay The first rule of Going Overboard...You do NOT talk about Going Overboard. This is easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The acting is terrible. The swearing is excessive and not funny. The pacing is painfully slow. The girls aren't particularly stunning. I wanted to ignore the negative reviews. But they are certainly true. I watched about 15 minutes and then chaptered through. That was all I could take. Incinerate all copies you find.
Terry Anderson Quite possibly the worse movie I have ever seen. My brother rented this about ten years ago and I still haven't forgiven him. How did it get made and after making this horrendous film, who thought it was a good idea to actually release it. I wish I had a picture of the face I was making as a sat through this entire film, so I could at least laugh at that memory. Why the hell was Blockbuster even renting it out! Every copy should be burned!
magicmanmb Can't put a spoiler as there is nothing to spoil. The opening and constant talking to the camera is annoying, some films have used it in small doses, not this one. If Sandler had done some of the writing instead of ripping of Henny Youngmans rejects possibly it could have been a 2 star, I realize it was partly due to first time. I don't see Billy Bob Thornton added to the movie. The excessive profanity was just truly offensive. Fine line working blue & using it instead of proper dialogue. The F word was used countless times, in FAME it fit in with the character it wasn't necessary to use it here.I have truly never seen so poorly written material. I bought as part of a box lot of 100 at an auction. Watched it and felt like I had become dumber by watching after looking at the reviews. I'm giving it to my Mother in law for Christmas, many times she has said Adam Sandler SNL & Movies are always funny we'll see what she says now. I think all the other reviews are kind. Please save your money but if you must see if its playing on a free or introductory price service.
The-Plague You know that one movie that your favorite actors made that is just kind of…well…so bad it makes you want to cut onions just to cover up the fact that you are crying? This is that movie for Adam Sandler fans. I do not know if it would be easier to talk about what is wrong with this movie or what they did right, but since I am a negative guy to begin with, let's get started.Adam Sandler's acting is borderline horrendous, and I don't mind bad acting, but for some reason it just annoys me with this movie. He keeps talking directly to the camera, turning it into one of those (The main character knows this is a movie, movies), which I think is an ineffective comedy tactic. The terrorists in the movie were equally annoying and disappointing, and the rushed plot comes to an abrupt ending with no real storyline in the middle or conclusion. It is like opening a beer, then cutting to someone throwing a bottle away. What happened to all of the good stuff in the middle?
