Hangman's Curse Audience Reviews

Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Jenni Devyn Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.
wannabkool_mate This comment is for those already seen and read the book/movie... and those who are about seen(who haven't seen this movie yet)! The film takes place in Baker, Washington, three(3)popular student athletes who lie in an incoherent coma...with loss of muscle coordination, severe paranoia, and hallucination. That's when the Springfields' are called to go on a secret (special, " in whatever way you'd like to call it" mission to find the mystery and story of how and what happened to Abel Frye that made him be suicidal or commit suicide(in hanging himself)...? The whispers went by how the victims of Abel Frye - turned to a curse that haunted the school ever since a student( a ghost of Abel Frye played by George Humphries)died, there in the 1930's. As for now, the curse is spreading, and student are running scared, not knowing what to do...The book, as always, is better than the film... but still the movie by how it's done is pretty good!Take my advice... watch the film... I'm pretty sure you'll like it! Highly recommended!!! (as for now)Grade B
CrackerJack30 Can you imagine this: the „Spy kids" (and their parents) try to solve the mystery of a strange curse while working undercover in the world of "High School Musical"? Sounds like a great parody, but sadly, this isn't one. "Hangman's Curse" takes itself serious, and this is a big, big, HUGE mistake! When the film starts, you didn't notice anything unusual for a typical B-Horror-movie. We learn that a secret group exists, called the "Veritas" project, we see a somber student hang himself (lets say we can imagine it, luckily they don't show the poor guys death) and then the local football-players from his High school seems to be cursed by the mysterious hangman. Nothing new so far, but as a fan of B-Movies I was interested and keep on watching. Then we meet the agents of the Veritas project. Actually, they hunt drug dealers undercover. Hm. A bit confusing to me: Why should a paranormal organization hunt simple drug dealers (unless they are Vampires or Ghosts…)? I forgot that point as I realized, that these agents are – a family! Mom, Dad, and two Teenager (sister+brother) are the Veritas Project. While I tried to realize this, they get their next assignment: Working undercover in a High School. And now, the director really lost it. Instead of horror action we dive into the world of a typical American High School with every cliché you can think of! We have all the groups there. The Football Players. The Gothics. The Nerds.I still can't believe that any producer paid money to make such a ridiculous (but completely unfunny!) movie! Why does actors like David Keith ("Firestarter") and Tom Wright ("Marked for Death" , "Martial Law") waste their talent in such a crap? Well, this movie is nonetheless an important film for me. Cause the next time someone ask me "What is the worst horror movie you ever saw?" I can say: "Hangman's Curse!"
Miss_DeMented It's rare that I watch a film and hate everyone involved and everything that occurs on screen but this is the exception to the rule. Admittedly, I'm probably a little old for this film but I find it hard to believe that even it's core audience would find much merit. The characters were extremely two dimensional, the situations entirely unbelievable and the so-called 'twist' could be seen from miles away.I imagine that if Nickelodeon started making horror movies, this would be the result. It limped along at a snails pace and the stereotypes of some of the characters appalled me. Surely, even pre-pubescent teens can see through that sort of thing. It strikes me that Frank Perretti has written about people that he has never, ever come into contact with and has no knowledge of whatsoever.Add to the mix a mish-mash of heavily contrived dialogue and you're onto a losing formula.Avoid at all costs, unless you're 12/13. Even then, go and watch 'Spy Kids' or something......
emocore-1 I just bought this movie on DVD, but why?? It was a waste of money,i think its a really bad movie. I nearly fell asleep in the middle, even if the genre says its a horror/thriller i didn't found any scary or any interesting or a little bit exciting part in it, maybe thats my fault, but i don't think so.The dialogs are very bad in my opinion and the movie has a calculable end, so i was really disappointed, i expected a lot better than this. But i find the main character(Elisha) very cute ;)First and last, i think this movie is boring and completely sucks ass! I don't know why anybody gives more than 1 for this movie : (
