Hangman Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Micitype Pretty Good
FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Noutions Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .
sacratez Al Pacino was excellent and the other reviews about his dialect are wrong. His accents didn't change through out the movie. Excellent acting and the storyline was superb the way it tied in with the first victim. It kept me focused the whole time and that is hard to do since I'm in a wheelchair and have a large database of movies. A movie is only as good as it's storyline and this was near perfect.
victoriacousins-81049 This would of been my ideal Sunday film to watch.... and yes should of read the reviews first. I wouldn't of wasted my time. So disappointing. Some really weird scripted writing going on in this film, and some not very good acting I have to say. And also the worst thing is the dumb stuff they do in this film, it's so irritating. Honestly don't wast your time.
mherrin-43253 Hangman: Directed by Johnny Martin and written by Michael Caissie and Charles HuttingerA serial killer enacting a live version of the kids game hangman and an overacting delirious and tired Al Pacino barely functioning in this dry, dull generic thriller. The whole hangman being a hook caught my attention mainly because it sounds like a parody of serial killer movies from the 90s. This aspect of the movie is handled gruesomely and pretty well. It is mostly inconsequential to the story as a whole. There is no reason for the killer to engage in this. It has no special meaning to the detectives or the killer. This is also played straight as can be. It needed that little bit of levity to take the piss out of the situation. The dialogue follows the standard cop movie. The detectives have a tragic backstory and even the reporter has a horrible backstory each one delivered with the plop of an anvil. It has an incredibly low score on Rotten Tomatoes and it was directed by the same person responsible for the god awful Vengeance A Love Story. This movie is a million times better than that disgusting movie. It's merely bland and cliche. Skip this one too. I give this one a D.
alecsaaugusta I logged in for the first time here just to ballance an injustice. This movie deserves much more than this rating.I first read the User Reviews, then I crossed my fingers for Al Pacino and I clicked "Play". For me, the movie is in "I want more, I wish a few series of it" category. I have no idea why, I would say it's a movie for cat-lovers only, since it has such bad reviews, they may come from dog-lovers ... I took delight in many Al Pacino's replies, I will remember them as he told them, with his voice, with his accent ... The car races are not an important part of the movie, I remember no one of them, because the accent is on the action, not on the cars. The lady journalist is just a believer: you relate or not with her, any believing is a choice. I expected her to be more stupid (as any journalist character in such movies), bunt no, she is surprisingly decent. And yes, believers do exist, that's the realism of the movie. The cop played by Karl Urban is quite ok. No need for an acting to top Al Pacino's. It's not about the cop, it's about each of them: of course, they are not all seductive, the young people do not need seductiveness, the old one do: that's realistic too. The accent of the acting means nothing to me, since I am not an American. In the end, I thought: well, it may be like eating kidneys: some people adore them, some people can't stand them, but all cat lovers should keep some in their fridge. For me, the movie was "purrrfect" :)
