Captures a generational moment - young people on the cusp of truly growing up, tiring of their reflexive cynicism, each in their own ways struggling to connect and define what it means to love and be loved. Six New Yorkers juggle love, friendship, and the keenly challenging specter of adulthood. Sam Wexler is a struggling writer who's having a particularly bad day. When a young boy gets separated from his family on the subway, Sam makes the questionable decision to bring the child back to his apartment and thus begins a rewarding, yet complicated, friendship. Sam's life revolves around his friends — Annie, whose self-image keeps her from commitment; Charlie and Mary Catherine, a couple whose possible move to Los Angeles tests their relationship; and Mississippi, a cabaret singer who catches Sam's eye.

Happythankyoumoreplease Audience Reviews

Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Dotsthavesp I wanted to but couldn't!
Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
wfhbear This movie was released in 2010. I have no idea where it has been hiding or why I have never heard of it. (All Huge Libraries like Netflics and VOD-Thank You) Anyway, there is a lot of out loud laughter and snickering caused by this movie. If I didn't know better I would think it was a "hall mark" except for the off-color words that get thrown around. (This is not a complaint) You can get yourself a bit dizzy over the character's interactions with each other. Since we are now old and not of the Saturday evening movie "Cuddling Group" anymore we discussed a lot of what was going on and made ourselves laugh even more. I really liked Malin Akerman, her happy attitude and outward effervesces was a real centered throughout the movie. Michael Algier's dead pan looks and is straight answers what he was asked made for humor and some very sad instances. Josh Radnor was the center of this movie. He was kind'a of a civilian "Sad Sack". Zoe Kazan and Kate Mara were, well I'd chase both through the streets of NYC. These Actors were spot on with their emotions and reactions to everything. There are no spoilers in this review because you really need to watch HAPPYTHANKYOUMOREPLEASE. and get your own opinions. I hope everyone takes the time to enjoy this movie.
CJ 101 I'm seeing a dozen reviews griping about all the clichés, and of course, none of them actually spell out a single one they found.. This film 'zigs' when you suspect it might a zag. The characters all had memorable lines, and I'm surprised there are more of them in the "Quotes" section. Radnor's made an impressive directorial debut, but I agree he seems a tad wooden in his acting. He leaves the heavy lifting to Kate Mara and Malin Ackerman.. The star though, is Tony Hale, swinging for the fences in his affections for Ackerman's character. In the battle of 'sitcom actors turned cinema auteurs', he takes a slight lead over Zach Braff,though I'm interested in seeing more from both.. Watch this, and ignore all those people who are so jaded, they see a cliché in a person walking down the street to music. People do things like that! Deal with it.
atripavan okay, I give it an eight on ten for a reason. First of all for you to appreciate this movie, you need to be a fan of this genre. If you are a person, who mostly watch fast moving action, crime, thriller with abusive languages, etc, then this movie is not for u. u need to have some softness in Ur heart(i guess;)) This movie is kinda slow, and some of you may find it boring as well, but the dialogs, and the story line has some intensity in it, though not very different. This is one such movie which after u finish watching, touches your heart and makes you think of it, now 'n then for the rest of the day. The performances of each n every soul in the movie is brilliant..Josh Radnor is awesome....both in acting and also at his direction and script writing skills....All in all, I would say, watch it feel happy, and to do that u need to feel the depth in the dialogs and performances....
trewrtew Yes, I didn't notice it was shot digital. Then, when I saw the oval-shaped boké in the out-of-focus car tail-lights, I realised it was anamorphic. A combination of Hawk Anamorphic lenses and a rock-solid story added up to the full-bottle with this film. RED can do it! What else? Did the DP hide the talent in the shadows, to hide the highlight-clipping? Nope. Any sign of heavy colourisation in post? Certainly not. I'd say most RED fans will be using Happythankyoumoreplease as a benchmark for how to get it right in RED. For me, as long as it looks as real as this, I won't be yearning for film. One minor gripe (big grip for me) is that its Blu-Ray release was in 16:9 instead of the original 2:35:1.
